Choice of a one-two punch in centres that lead the OHL and you say "meh, let's pick the uninterested, hyped, left-shot American D"?

You're the one that's short sighted bub.

You're getting dazzled by numbers. It's ok. It happens. Some people understand that you don't need to take the centre right now if he's not the best prospect. Some people get that this team will be picking high for the foreseeable future and if the Leafs believe the defenceman is the better prospect then they should take him.

As a hint Steerphan, Josh is implying that you are not one of those aforementioned people...

interesting article on crouse:

http://www.broadstreethoc...ing-report-nhl-draft-2015

seems too risky for a top 5 pick; but maybe worthy of top 10. Basically, seems like he was a one man show vs. Strome whose numbers were propped up by playing behind mcdavid.

mynhldraft has Crouse at 11th... I'd feel comfortable drafting him there.

I don't buy being a one man show as a reason for Crouse's numbers though... Eerie was an awful team when the Leafs drafted McKegg, and he still managed 85 points.

And for Kingston, Bennet was beast mode last season, and over 2ppg in the limited time he played this season... if Crouse had that kind of high-end talent, you'd think being the lone star wouldn't hurt as much as it seems to have.

bennet played 11 games. Crouse went from less than a point game to about 1.5 points a game with bennet in the lineup

also, mckegg was 3rd in scoring on his team. Crouse was 1st in scoring on his. pretty big difference.
