From what I've seen, he's just too small for the NHL. He struggles to barely hang on defensively and that blunts what he can do offensively at EV. He clearly has a ton of skill, though, and looks like he could make things happen on the power play.

I think that AAAA analogy was spot on. Brennan just looks like one of those players, like Rob Schremp, that has tremendous skill in some areas but ultimately doesn't have the overall ability to stay in the NHL for very long. I hope someone gives him a longer look, though.

Whether Carolina does it or not really depends on how much they want the $21M it saves them(minus whatever they pay Kadri, or plus what they get for him in terms of offersheets). As a hockey trade, it's obviously terrible value for them.

It's definitely the Canes taking a hit to get rid of the albatross that is Alex Semin but that's the best part (or one of the only good things) about being the Leafs, is money is no object to us

Semin becomes a whipping boy for a couple years, by the time our prospects are ready to roll, he'll be off the books

After getting Marner or Strome at 4, land Provorov or Hanifin at 5 with that pick.

If Yotes go Hanifin, well Leafs just landed two home-grown Leaf fans with back to back picks. Would be epic
