I was reading over in Ty Andersons blog about Bruins struggling to find cap space for Hamilton. They suggested that they expect an offer sheet from Oilers or other teams. It is reported Hamilton wants 7 mil per and they also need a back up goalie.
An offer sheet of 7 mil would bring a first a second and a third. I imagine there will be lots of trade talks.
Dealing with the 7 mil cap space. Edler Lack and Kassian plus our first.
Some may say overpayment but that is the price of a #1 Dman that you will have for years and years - VANTEL
Whoa whoa whoa man
You're losing your marbles with that one!! There isn't a HUGE difference between Edler & Hamilton...well except youth and upside. Deals like that kill your franchise. It's much better to draft our own Dougie Hamilton. |

Edler is seriously underappreciated by Canuck fans. The guy plays tough minutes against other teams best players. At 5 million per he's on a good contract!
And no he doesn't need to play with Tanev to be good, he's been good for a long time before Tanev ever made the NHL. 2012 he put up 49 points playing with Kevin friggin Bieksa. |

He was good before Tanev but I would put him in a deal for the 2nd overall. I appreciate how good he is but changing the core is constantly talked about here and I do believe he gives us the best options via trade if his is willing to waive his NTC. Package him with Lack and a good trade will come of it. |

Edler is vanilla. Vanilla is ok and sometimes good but never great. Back in 2011 he had some very good showings. There is questions about his back. I many times wonder about his hockey sense and judgement.
You will not get a Hamilton for Markstrom Bieksa and Higgins. Edmonton I am sure would be offering Eberle , the 16 th and a prospect. Go big or stay home.
Having a 6'5 hard hitting puck moving point producer for the next 12 years would not break my heart |

Ya it'd be awesome...but the Bruins aren't gonna let him walk away, they'll get him signed. They lost Seguin in a poor deal, Neely won't put up with losing Hamilton as well. Just my opinion. |

We aren't in a position to draft a Dougie Hamilton and sometimes you have to take a little risk...especially with a retool on the fly.
The difference between Edler and Hamilton is massive. Hamilton's projections are that he will be a consistent 50pt+ Dman...maybe a Norris trophy candidate a few times. Big puck mover right hand shot which is exactly what we need.
Edler is on the downswing and will be a sub 30pt guy most likely the rest of his career...unless he gets on the PP with Crosby/Malkin...Sutter trade?

Cole Cassels

Before we get into this.
You do know it would cost more than Cassels correct?

19 days to the draft - VANTEL
19 days till the freak out.
I'll be leading the charge once Brandon Carlo is selected and Kassian is traded for a late 2nd. |

Not if we take Phat Phil's contract as a big steamy cap dump. |
