Eichel is a super jock. Chances that EDM picks him #1 after the combine?
1%?
BTW wtf don't they already do on ice testing? |

Some Oiler fan are delusional saying he's not a generational player
I would like someone to name me a player that is entering the league like him that's a freak of nature I can't think of anybody
other than Alexander Ovechkin |

Eichel is the second best prospect to enter the NHL since Crosby
Reinhart is probably in the top 15 since Crosby was drafted

You're Right, if this was any other draft, not including Crosby Lemieux Gretzky etc. Eichel would be first overall. And going to Edmonton. Buffalo would have to pick Strome maybe. |

And on another note, what exactly, is this "rivalry" with McDavid based upon? They don't play against each other do they? They didn't grow up together. Is it some sort of USA vs Can thing? I don't get it. |

In this cap era, I would love to see this revisited, the Intraleague draft
say each team can protect 40 signed players, and expose up to 10 more
with the salary cap, there could be interesting players exposed
also how in the hell did they do this draft w/o the internet?
"Another type of draft, common before the NHL Amateur Draft came into existence, was the Intraleague draft. In this draft, NHL teams could select players from each other. This type of draft also involved lists of protected players, and the team from which the player was taken would often receive cash compensation. Often the teams that finished out of the playoffs were allowed to protect more players than those who made the playoffs. These drafts were held in an era of NHL secrecy, and so because of this complete information rarely trickled out about them. "

It will be a "rivalry". The NHL hasn't seen one prospect "this good" in about ten years, let alone two, and they will always be compared to each other provided one of them doesn't bust, which is unlikely. Make no mistake. Jack Eichel is well above anybody in this draft by quite a ways except for McDavid.
Alex Ovechkin had the better physical attributes than Crosby did. However, they were elite for both of them. What makes Crosby the better player is the mental aspect. He's got better hockey smarts, better vision, and up until lately, when his team has been mired in a bit of a mess, he had more of the ability to elevate his game, and make plays when it really matters.
Ultimately, that last factor is what is going to be the difference between McDavid and Eichel. McDavid is the higher ranked prospect because, up until now, he's shown more of it than Eichel has, and he deserves it for that reason. However, the sample size isn't big enough to guarantee that will hold true in the NHL. |

From highlight reels I've watched, if you want to be picky with McDavid and Eichel, they both have some flaws. McDavid doesn't always come back hard on defense when the puck goes the other way. Eichel seems to hang on to the puck too much. Overall, McDavid has better scoring touch and Eichel is better at shielding the opponent from the puck. Can't go wrong with either prospect |

Reinhart will be lucky to be the best forward in his draft class with how Bemnett, Draisaitl and Larkin have looked so far. Any one of them could be the best |

Larkin looked great in college
Draisaitl was a train wreck in his 37 NHL games.
Bennett looked good while surrounded by actual NHL talent. Something I believe how Reinhart would have looked had we not had a very inept roster. |

Oilers really need to move Draisaitl, he should be moved at the draft or shortly thereafter. He just doesn't have a spot on that team anymore and they have large needs in other areas. |

Maybe.
I'd move him to wing 1st on the 2nd line. |
