Not if you're going with the Miller Lack combo again. Gotta trade him while he has value around the league. What if he completely poops the bed next year, then what?
The one sure thing is Miller is a serviceable starter in the National Hockey League, that you can take to the bank. - LeftCoaster
No need convince me. I have been on team Miller all season long. |

Why? We need young player while we get rid of older ones. More youth and more draft picks is what we need. The Canucks don't need any short term fixes, what they need is a long term vision or four to five year look-ahead. |

JB has already made the effort looking forward with Baertchi and Clendening and will continue to do more. We have counted on these veterans for to long they need a change and we need a change. People seem to think there is little value in most but I see it differently. The pieces need are out there and Benning will get creative. |

ah. incomplete thought...i'd include Cassels with the aforementioned players in package to land a top draft pick. Because i agree we need an infusion on top end talent, need to lose the older players to make room (Bieksa).
I just don't think CC is an untouchable (like Bo or JV should be). |

People forget Schneider got us Horvat.
My point is its not out of the realm of possibility that Lack ++ couldn't bring in valuable pieces.
The right deal will come along. - thundachunk
Very good point. Many on here cry about the Schneider deal but really we did ok.
If Benning moves Lack I'm pretty sure he will get value out of him. |

Cassels just shut down McJesus and Draisaitl back to back. Highly doubt he is going anywhere. |

Let's not get carried away, he shut them down in junior and has 2 years on them and had the benefit of NHL rookie camp, training camp and pre-season games. He's in the Canucks plans, but he's expendable too with McCann developing so well in the Soo. |

Just my opinion but I think players like Lack Higgins Bieksa and Hansen are only worth draft picks. Which the franchise needs! |

Anyone who thinks we're getting a top four pick without holding a 5-6-7 pick is being unrealistic.
But yes I don't think Cassels is untouchable, I just don't see him, or any players we have, getting you a top pick. Late first maybe. |

I disagree only with Bieksa. He is a great many qualities that make me feel otherwise. He had a bad season but he still holds a lot of value. |

Yes he might get you a pick and a prospect, but not one of significant value or standing. |

I don't think the Canes would do that... they went a bit off script to select him, so I think they value him quite highly... |

A club that's finish 7th, 5th & again 5th last this year is not in need of an aged dman for one season. They too, in my opinion, are building towards the future. |

Fair enough...however, shutting down a 'true' no.1 pick in McDavid considering the #'s McDavid was putting up in the playoffs is an achievement...plus becoming a champion and learning how to win at the same time which we sorely lack. I'm all about McCann as well but Cassels is showing signs of filling a massive need for us. I don't think at this point he is expendable. They will invest time in him and see how he does in Canuck Blue first before tossing in the towel. |

I don't think he has much, let's not forget both his Achillies tendons have been cut and stitched together, he's got almost no mobility and he doesn't have the hockey sense/positioning to cover for it. |
