He was actually my 2nd choice after Ehlers. - Nucker101
I think you DCT and I were on the Ehlers train at the draft. If my memory serves me. |

Like every large fanbase, there's going to be the vocal homers/trolls/idiots and then the sane/logical fans get lumped in with them. Whether it's the Canucks or Leafs. |

I believe so. I know you and DCT loved both Draisaitl and Ehlers. |

I still am. I also don't think Virtanen was a bad pick. He is developing just fine. |

I think so as well, Bo had 0 pts in a 5 game regular season ahl stint - we can all agree, hopefully, that we were happy with his progression. Not going to lie though, would love for jake to pot one |

I would like to see him score but I'm more interested in Utica winning. If he score good but I cheer for the number on the front. |

well utica could use a goal from him as well, they havent been exactly scoring at will. I think Jake potting one would help the team more than satisfying our stat sheets. |

Markstrom is giving them a chance and they have been getting better from my perspective. Berube kept the Monarchs in it with 2 amazing saves in the 1st that should have been goals. |

yeah, it was a lot more even this game compared to game 1. Thought Utica wasn't in game 1 at all. Thought they were generating more tonight though. Hopefully they can take 2 of 3 at home... |

Much better Avatar BTW.
Conacher looks like the only NHLer on the ice at times. He has played excellent hockey. |

hah thanks. yeah, not sure why I had that last one. Sven has looked really good at times as well, thought he was showing some good jump but maybe a little banged up. think a few guys are a little worn. |

i'm not gonna lie, his lack of production is starting to alarm just a tad. Not saying he was a bad pick or a bust at all, but damn some offense would be nice. Maybe our expectations are too high but watching guys like Nylander/Pastrnak/Larkin become AHL stars right away has me a little disappointed. - Nucker101
I think they have to keep him with the Comets 2 years while he develops his scoring touch. He clearly is bringing the physical effort, but scoring in the A vs the NHL is going to prove even tougher. If he doesn't have that now it's going to be very tough to play his way through. He's still VERY young. |

Don't forget he had a serious shoulder injury that hampered him most of the season and made it impossible to train in the off-season. Let him get a full off-season training regimen and skills training before you start to worry. As long as he's involved and noticeable, I'm not going to worry about him scoring, he's barely out of junior, give the kid a break. |

leaf fans would just be happy to get rid of his contract.
it's just trolls of other teams trying to make it seem like phaneuf is going to get a big return. nice try though. |

I hate LeBron, but for the city itself, I'd like Cleveland to win a championship. There hasn't been much for that city to celebrate for years, not since the Browns had Bernie Kosar. |

i'm a troll because i speak facts that homers don't like hearing.
ask your favorite canuck fan Vantel. he spent all summer calling me a troll because i said luongo is not going to get a big return. your most "knowledgeable" canucks fan doesn't even know his team as well as i do, so next time you try calling me a troll, just remember i know hockey better than you so perhaps you should listen to what i have to say.
or you can keep dreaming that lack + is going to land you eichel. |

im sorry, are you trying to suggest you won the schneider deal?
the reason why you got a valuable piece in horvat is because you traded an even more valuable piece in schneider. - sensnucksnocups
Both players have been extremely impactful to both clubs in that trade. The level of 'validity' remains to be seen and Schneider is not technically a more 'valuable' piece at this time.
Let's see where we are at in a season or two. If Schneider is up for the Vezina and Horvat is up for the Selke then we'll have much more to talk about.

Truthfully, the only comparison will be if one gets a Cup for either team. Cory was definitely the best player at the time in the deal, but by making that deal NJ screwed themselves with having no first rounders for 3 years due to the Luongo-like contact (and subsequent retirement) of Ilya Kovolchuk. |

schneider is the only reason the devils didnt finish last overall.
im not going to even bother trying to make you realize how bad a deal it was, the whole hockey world can see it was an awful move, if it was a good deal then gillis wouldnt have been fired now would he?
keep thinking it was a good move, another season and miller's age will show and you will have traded lack for a decent pick so you will see just how good that trade really was. |
