Peterson was a wasted pick. Those guys you can get through waivers. Should have swung for the fences.

If you're going to "waste" a pick, do it in round 7, not round 3 |

B. Schenn, #7 and #30 for #3? Yes, no? - wilsonecho91
All depends on how valuable the #3 pick is. On paper, yeah, it's not bad. I don't think moving up to #3 is worth it, because there's so much uncertainty from 3-9. You might be giving up assets to draft the guy who's available at 7. |

i hate when announcers say that he put the puck in the back of the net. Who cares if he put it in the back or front of the net. So long as the puck is in the net, it's irrelevant. - wilsonecho91
this also annoys me, but probably not as much as it annoys you. |

They drafted nothing but skill last year. - Jsaquella
true but it was one year and we can't say for certain how much skill they actually got. |

No, but I thought about it.
I just don't think the difference between 3 and 7 is worth a young roster player plus a low 1st, high 2nd......especially when the Flyers' organizational depth kinda sucks. They need multiple players in multiple positions.

Just for that I'm going to rescind my endorsement of Meier. Now instead I'm putting the Italian Maloik on him. |

I haven't had a complex carb in 12 days. My Blood sugar went from 400 to 73 and I dropped 5 pounds.
I still want PIZZA but the boy and I joined the gym again yesterday. |

meh. if i put the puck into the front of the net, it's in the net. if i put the puck on net, it's a different story. it's a waste of words. - wilsonecho91
last night, during the SO of our finals game, i made a blocker save in front of the net and it went up in the air and was about to go in behind me over my shoulder, and i made second blocker save and swatted it over the net. the important thing is that did not end up in the net. |

agreed. - wilsonecho91
There's not enough of a gap between a guy like Strome and who they can get at 7 for me to really want to give up a premium asset to slide up. Even if the Flyers had the 3rd pick, Barzal would be on my list, if not at the top of it. Even at 4 or 5, I'm considering Zacha or Rantanen.
Last year, in October, ISS rated Barzal 4th. Marner and Strome were 8th and 9th.
The only thing Barzal did wrong was get hurt and miss a big chunk of the season. Marner and Strome had hugely productive seasons. |

The current GM has been in the job for one year. Kind of hard to say Hextall had any impact on previous drafts, since he wasn't working for the Flyers until a few weeks after the 2013 draft.
Every single player they took showed improvement-Sanheim became one of the best D-men in the WHL, Aube-Kubel had a big year in the Q. It was a very encouraging draft class, even the later round guys did well and showed promise. |

Agreed. If you are going to burn an asset, better to use the Lightning pick and a player and try to get into the teens. The incremental value is higher from 29 to 19 than from 7 to 3. |

what are the chances that we already have a trade lined up for Grossmann ?
thoughts about prying one of Nemeth/Oleksiak from Dallas?
