i read an article (men's health i think) about "eating like a ripped guy" they said even multi-grain bread is a no go... oh yea i drive by sushi kingdom everyday to get to work, last time i was in there they wouldn't bring my full order. but i guess that tells me something

The doc won't let me have alcohol either which means I'm also 12 days sober. That's probably keeping the carbs away as much as anything else.

Columbus has the tools to move up. They could offer 8th overall, have 3 second rounders and could even dangle a prospect like Kerby Rychel for it
- Jsaquella

Sounds pretty simple.

Rychel and 8 for 4.

Agreed. If you are going to burn an asset, better to use the Lightning pick and a player and try to get into the teens. The incremental value is higher from 29 to 19 than from 7 to 3.
- TheGreat28

Exactly. Then you are going from guys like Bittner and Greenway who have a lot of talent, but are projects to guys like Merkley, Chabot, Svechnikov or White who are likely going to be ready sooner and may have higher ceilings.

the flyers aren't playing now, so that should make being sober easier to accomplish.

I haven't had a complex carb in 12 days. My Blood sugar went from 400 to 73 and I dropped 5 pounds.

I still want PIZZA but the boy and I joined the gym again yesterday.

- mayorofangrytown

If it's feasible, do cardio first thing in the morning, before coffee or food. At least 45 minutes, high heart rate. 4-5 days a week, and an evening weight or extra workout 3 days a week.

I've dropped 22 lbs in 2 and 1/2 months. I cut out sugar and down carbs, but not completely. I can cheat a little, but the exercise really burns it off.

If I'm the Leafs I'm demanding an arm, a leg, and either a first born or a left testicle

Yes, and honestly Bittner is a poor man's Crouse. Not as much skill and maybe speed, not quite as defensively aware. But on the Flyers with G and Jake, he'd fall somewhere between Crouse and Raffl in production.

So if you REALLY wanted a big power-forward LW, you could still take Barzal or Provorov and then Bittner.

pretty much the same scouting department tho, no?
- JoeRussomanno

There have been additions to it. And again, they did a pretty solid job last season in finding skill throughout. Not a single "grinder" taken, unless you count Fazleev, and he's not a Goulbourne type at all.

Bittner was a guy that fell a bit. Still big, still decent wheel, but not great...He's on my list if he's there at 29 or 30, but he's not my top choice.

Well if you put it in the back of the net it's a goal and if you put it in front of the net it's not.

I would probably put this one aside and search out new windmills. They've been saying it forever. Not sure your mini uprising here is going to get much of a reaction.

Love the anger though. Keep that going.

But, there was also a bit of a change in organizational thinking, an "identity" too. If the same guys are evaluate players based on a different rule book, the changes are gonna be different.

Then they can have Hanifin instead of Rychel and werenski.

It'd be smart to dangle that carrot in front of a team like Columbus who could use more star power

i had pizza AND went to the gym yesterday. woooooo!!!!
- hammarby31

I had a piece of steak, a chicken thigh and a salad. Later for a snack I had a bowl full of nuts and seeds.

My boy and his friend didn't have the salad for dinner but came home after open hockey with Dairy Queen and a large Pizza. There weren't any left overs but I wanted to hurt them.

Me neither, but you and I tend to value similar qualities in players. I'm saying, if Hextall really felt he had to have a big power LW for 1st line, I'd rather see him go that route with 29 and Bittner than 7 and Crouse.

I'm still holding out for Barzal and Svechnikov.

what are the chances that we already have a trade lined up for Grossmann ?

thoughts about prying one of Nemeth/Oleksiak from Dallas?
both are RFA's

- MrBigglesworth

Nemeth is basically a young version of Grossmann (and I don't think that's a bad thing).

Getting concerned about Oleksiak. He has little left to gain in the AHL at this point but is still really struggling in the NHL.

I've seen a lot of Fazleev and he'll chase the puck but I don't think the label "Grinder" has ever gotten anywhere near him. I haven't seen him in more than a few dust ups let alone a fight.

Seriously, the lemon and water thing is good too. I've been doing it, but in the morning. Really has detoxed the liver a bit. Sadly, I just really really toxed it up this weekend in Amsterdam

That's a bit of a factor, too, although I'm not sure to what extent. I think that skating ability is more important, but I think that they will still like to have size and some snarl in the mix.
