flyers possibly hiring the erie otters coach because they plan to move up and take strome???? imagine if they could pull that off and still take provorov at 7.......wake me up, somebody - hogweed
If they can get the 3rd pick without giving up their 7th, I will be a very happy boy. |

me too....probably have to give away some prospects and players that would make it debatable in terms of whether it makes sense but having 2 top tens??? i just watched 'draft day' so i think i may have dreamed it last night |

Trying to figure out what it would take to pry #3 away from Arizona without giving up the 7th pick.
I would guess B. Schenn and Tampa's first at the least.

it doesn't; pure speculation....i forgot about the ahl age rule and strome would likely play in the nhl this year, correct.....still, having a guy who coached the kid in the org may have some benefit for the team if they take him.... - hogweed
Maybe. It's unlikely that most of these guys go into the NHL without at least 1 more
Year, and they've got 2 more years before they could play in the AHL (barring an end- Of-year ATO 2 years from now). I don't think that has much bearing on the trade and, Unless they're giving up one of Giroux/Voracek/Simmonds/Mason and/or Morin/Sanheim, I doubt they're moving up to get Strome AND keeping the 7 pick. |

Numbers sometime don’t give you the whole picture - bmeltzer
Look past the usual box score and you'll find that the underlying numbers on Crouse are actually pretty strong:
ES P: 32 (1)
ES P/60: 1.69 (2)
ES GF%: 58% (4)
Team Goals Created: 9.8% (1)
(#) = denotes rank on team
He was only 17, had three forwards on his team get more TOI, and he still led the team in scoring by a healthy margin. And yeah, Bennett was hurt, too. |

i would think adding 2 more picks (2nd and a third?) or some combination of pick/roster player/top prospect would be minimum |

I feel like it'd be more like Simmonds & tampa's 1st. Which I wouldn't be opposed to. To get marner or strome, I'd think real hard about that option. (if it was there of course)

For 3rd overall? You're talking Simmonds, Laughton, and the 29th pick, and maybe even a 2nd and/or 3rd, with a 2nd or 3rd coming back to the Flyers. No way Phoenix moves that pick. |

Are advertisements taking up like 3/4 of the comment boards for anyone else? They seem to do that for me sometimes, and it overlaps with the comments and then I can't read poop. |

Phoenix could use a marquee guy in this draft, I would think. |

And then at that point, I say thank you sir, good day. No way I give up that much to move up 4 spots in a draft as deep as this. The most I'm giving up is Simmonds & (misspoke earlier) #7 pick to get to #3.

I wouldn't mind Crouse, but if they want him I hope they'd try something creative like trading back with Colorado or San Jose and picking up an extra 2nd. The last thing I want is Provorov going to CBJ. |

I doubt Marner survives their pick. They seem to have a thing for London Knights. |
