But if the drop off is really that big after 20 how many teams are going to want to trade down? - Sabresfan-365
I could see a scenario whereas he makes an offer to trade up but can't get it done and then sees guys like Sprong or Zboril are on the board at 21 and he grabs one of them.

Murray would have no interest in Nash and why would he, after what he has said he 's looking for in players Nash isn't it. |

My issue is at 21 and 31 you could walk away with 2 of Kylington, Dergachev, Roy, Carlo, or Sprong.
I've seen Sprong falling to the 2nd on a few mocks. |

Bingo.
24 and under. |

I think he will if what he said was true about the top 20 guys.
21 and 31/51 are 4-5 years away from regular NHL action.
He thinks the top 20 are all in that 1-3 years away. If he thinks that then more than likely so does everyone else. It might have to be 21, 31, and 51. Is it too much? IDK - dadeadhead
I don't think there is a set top 20 on every team's draft boards. I think there is a little deviation and even if we stayed at 21 TM would get one of hs top 20. |

He could work, but I could see a team giving him a longer term contract. |

I think there are quality players at 21, lots of good ones so if he doesn't trade up and decides to keep it, we'll get a good young player. Having said that it sure would be great to trade up and get Konecny. Like Kong said, we could move 21 and a prospect.

That's where the offers sheets come in. Target NHL players at the age or under. |

I always mention Thornton and Marleau but like Nash are on the wrong side of 30 or close to it, it wouldn't shock me to see ROR or an offer sheet for another player or both to be honest. I mentioned last week they had interest in Yandle, Murray can care less about other GM's so we should see some fire works. |

I read on twitter from someone tonight that stated Pierre LeBrun said the Oilers were tossing around internally whether to offer sheet Dougie Hamilton. He must have said this on the air. |

I'm not saying Nash, Kessel, Marleau and Thornton are bad players it's just with what they are doing, they don't seem to fit with the contracts they have. |

It seemed obvious to me I bet he's going to try extra hard not to fail this year and go home empty handed like he did last year if there is a player he really wants to move up to get. |

Yandle will be 29.
Just because Murray wants players under 24 doesn't mean those will be the only he targets. GM's don't line up to hand young star players away |

No, Yandle will be 29, that's a fact. You said yourself they have some interest. That is off from the narrative that they "Only will target young players" |

Ask yourself this why do the Rangers reportedly want to deal Yandle after such a short stay and a hgh price they paid and a year left on his contract?
I haven't seen him play enough to comment about his play but I wasn't overly impressed with him in the playoffs. Ambivalent

My comment was towards the last part of your post and I know what was said about young players but that's what was mentioned to me about Yandle. |
