I'm in agreement, Lack as of yet hasn't instilled the confidence with me as a starter. He was obviously better last year than the year before, but I'm not so sure he could handle 65-70 games in the canucks jersey, the media would chew him up and shatter what ever confidence he has gained as a back-up.
He would be better off trying to become a starter in a less frantic hockey market where there is anonymity, I like the guy but would rather ride things out with Miller for another year. - Makita
Have to try and trade Miller, but likely ain't happening.
Trade who ever gets the best return between Markstrom and Lack. If the difference s negligible, I'd rather keep Lack.
Or could trade both Lack and Markstrom. Don't think it really matters if Miller is the starter. Stuck with him for 2 years and may get resigned while Demko develops. |

Considering the position of the team, I am in the same boat that there is no urgency to make any sort of deal. If all returns are equal between Lack and Markstrom, I trade Lack as he isnt going to drastically improve. I roll the dice with the younger guy and hope it pans out.
There are exceptions to every rule, but I dont think Lack is one of them. Being 27 he is entering his prime without being a definitive number one and if the Canucks aren't in a position to seriously contend, it seems like a waste if he can pull it together. I thought this was pretty interesting: http://hockey-graphs.com/...-at-a-goalie-aging-curve/ |

Miller's wife is an actress...he wanted to go to Cali before...
Miller/Bieksa or Hammer and a 4th for Hertl and a 2nd?...maybe a 3rd?
SJ's window is open NOW...depth at D and a more reliable keeper is all they need |

Haha yeah ok...maybe im a little biased. Can't hurt to ask though. They started playin Hertl less towards the end of the year. Maybe they don't see a fit anymore. |

SJ is in cap hell, and they aren't trading Hertl, it's a non-starter for them. |

How about 3 goalies?๐จ๐จ๐จ

That works...both Hammer and Bieksa i think are expendable. A solid dman like Hammer and a potential starter is all EDM needs to jumpstart that decade long rebuild - c_roy33

You're right it's a non-starter but that trade proposal is worth a couple of verbal attacks from know-it-all Leaf fans. |

"If the difference is negligible, I'd rather keep Lack." As would I, but only because I'm familiar with Lack and have a little more confidence. Give Markstrom the backup role for 2 years and he may also develop into a serviceable goalie.
I would rather trade Miller, but does anyone really believe that Lack and Markstrom can be the tandem into next year...I certainly don't think JB is comfortable with that duo for next year....unless they want a higher draft pick next year. |

Have to move salary to bring him in.
Not sure if that would mean Bo is on the 4th line to start the season? Not necessarily a bad thing if Bo is still getting 10+ mins a night. Maybe earns more ice time and a bigger role.
Maybe move Bonino at some point? Might get a healthy return.
Get to the draft already. |

Bonino had a strong last game at the worlds this year. I wonder what he would be like playing with Sven and Virtanen |
