I think Marky and Lack could hold the fort for the next four years

Moving Miller and his contract is the issue.

I know . The only way is to take back a bad contract or eat salary.

It was a bad contract

I think if you keep Lack, Markstrom should be moved for any decent offer.

Not sure what is available among UFA's for a backup, 1 or 2 year contract. Lack should be able to handle 60+ starts. We miss the playoffs, we hold onto our picks.

and maybe Lack gets eaten alive.

I'm living in a dream world. Lack is getting moved.

Bonino had a strong last game at the worlds this year. I wonder what he would be like playing with Sven and Virtanen

I think he is a quality complimentary player but he won't ever be the one driving the bus.

Carol Schram: Vancouver Canucks: Another Take on Goalie Issue, Utica Comets in 0-2 Hole
After a 2-1 overtime loss on Sunday, the Utica Comets are in an 0-2 hole against the Manchester Monarchs in the Calder Cup Final, and the Vancouver Canucks will face stiff competition from the Ottawa Senators' Robin Lehner as they try to deal a goalie in the weeks heading up to the June 24 draft.

Thanks for mentioning the NBC coverage Carol. Sad as it is it's better than the CBC coverage by a mile. CBC is still broadcasting the games in 720p resolution and the far away shots look blurry as it's not full HD quality. The NBC broadcasts are full 1080i and much more resolute on distance shots from the ice. Rogers SN channels broadcast in 1080i which is great but CBC is too cheap to go over 720p resolution...a joke.

I actually prefer the SN/CBC coverage over what we had before with Maclean but that ain't sayin much. We finally don't HAVE to watch the Laffs at HNIC in the early game on Saturdays plus the Sunday game now. The coverage and choice is way better with SN at the Helm just that CBC's broadcasts still look like poope.

But I wouldn't be shocked if CBC is totally punted after the next three years when their contract is up with SN. It's time for CBC to go away.

I don't even remember what I sais to the little freak show to set him off like this.

I know who he reminds me of now. Remember when Elaine on Seinfeld had that secret admirer and he had all the paper cut outs of her?

Bingo

It wasn't though...Jim Benning came in cold to the franchise, they'd just come off a terrible season with Lack playing the majority of the last 40 games where they poop the bed. The first half of the season with Lu in net was actually pretty good.

During his interviews with the core of vets they asked or said they felt they needed a veteran goaltender. So Benning signs one, he plays decently enough to win 29 games, out of 45 games, during the first half of the season...and then he gets hurt.

Lack had a good 25 to 30 game stretch, does he deserve a shot, absolutely, but complaining of signing Miller is purely retrospect, based on the final 40 games this year, in my mind, because Lack wasn't great the year before.

Yep. That would be great. Don't think some of these teams want to get better that fast. They look at Edmonton and all the top picks they had. might pay off to not try to get better.

Thought it was crazy last season when Arizona traded Dubnyk while Smith was sucking so bad, or injured. Winning was counter productive to their goals.

I think packaging Miller with Bieksa is the only way other than keeping 2 mil on our books.

TBT I would move both just for that 31 st

Apparently Miller can list five teams he'll accept a trade to.

Trades aren't going to make this team better, drafting and developing is the way to go, and if you do not agree with me I will haunt you for years.

If you want Burns+ you'd have to do Miller Bonino Hamhuis Shinkaruk for Marleau, Burns. That MIGHT keep SJ on the phone... maybe.

Whats the point in getting Marleau?

Lets see Taj try and slurp Gillis' nuts now. Those were all signed by him i believe with the exception of Miller/Vrbata. Dont see how you give guys like Hansen and Higgins NTC's

price ya gotta pay to get rid of a bad contract. Marleau isn't totally useless. Make a better 2nd line C than Bonino.
