Bob McKenzie just reported he is being shopped around. Vrbata? - vancouverdawg
Brandon Sutter is the equivalent of Bonino...we don't really need another one. |

Maybe Vrbata for sutter and pits adds a late second. Thatd seem fair all around - phyllee
I would. Vrbata is a rental and only cost us money |

I'd put Bonino ahead of Sutter. Slightly but still ahead. Much nicer cap hit also. |

Kinda similar to what Boner scored with Anaheim. I see them in the same light & don't see how he's gonna help the team in three years when he'll be 30 years old.
I'd rather a first round pick for Vrbata. At this point I'm looking ahead, long'ish term not short term. |

Bonino looked good at the worlds and also when he was a Duck. Play him with talented wingers and not Higgins and Matthias and I am sure his numbers would improve |

I wonder if JB feels like Bo, Jared, and Cole can become the next three top centers for Van. D and Wingers are more of a concern for me right now. |

By the time Jared makes the jump to the nhl, Vey should be pretty solid to hold the fourth line center |

I know that. I was referring to Canucks last year had Dorsett Matthias Higgins Burrows Hansen playing second line. That is pretty sad |

Not sure? Keep picking until someone steps up to the plate and proves to be the guy you were hoping.
Prospect pool is, just ok, needs more guys on D with top four potential. |

I'm not sure Vey has a skill set for a 4th line centre role. Or a Center at all if he can't improve in the face-off dot. A third line LW maybe? |

ok but also improving! The D is getting old and as of right now, they don't have anyone who is stepping up. |

I think if you put decent players with Bonino or Sutter you would get decent numbers from both.
Canucks are a soft , country club team. Until this team cleans house this is what we get |

I would take Kenins or Sven over him as third line winger even Gaunce |

I'm unsure if Kenins is anymore then a 4th line energy player that scores once in a while. Vey did score 24 points last season. A decent first season. If Kenins did play the same amount he would have averaged more points though but Bo may have helped that. |

Bonino with the right players will improve but we have to provide that somehow. When he was with Winnick and Cogliano in ANA they were considered the best third line in hockey for a period.
On Bonino/Sutter comparison. I watch Sutter here at my Arena in the CAN PRO camps all summer. Sutter is a better overall player. Bonino does have a better shot though just barely. Sutter is a way more mobile player and more well rounded IMO.
He would be a good addition here. |
