TBT I expect a big move to be made from Benning. The Comets have had a very successful year and it time to reward some of them. JB has been saying since we were eliminated "We need to get bigger faster stronger younger" . There is only one way to do that and that is by moving people.
He has gone out and traded for Vey Clendenning Sven Sbisa Pedan ! And all of them are waiver eligible next year. He needs 5 of the 23 spots for them. Sanguinetti has been very good and needs a contract. He also traded for Bonino .
At some point you have to award Corrado Grenier and Gaunce by giving them a spot also. Then you have Weber. You need to move some players out to move that many in. - vancouverdawg

The Canucks need to start drafting defensemen in the first round, they can't continually rely on free agency and wishful thinking to land a player like Victor Hedman or Travis Sanheim.
In the past 20 years they've taken three defensemen in the first round, Luc Bourdon 05, Bryan Allen 98 & Brad Ference 97. That's not enough and lends itself to the reason we've never had a Norris caliber dman.
Or a Stanley Cup!! - LeftCoaster

Will Sanguinetti sign with Canucks next year. He has put up very decent numbers on the Comets but Canucks didn't give him the opportunity to try out for the big team.
Will he take that as a slight , and look to sign elsewhere? |

Cal ORielly, Bobby sangs and conacher are ahl players. Could they be called up to provide depth in case of injury's? Sure. |

If I were him I'd sign elsewhere. To a team that lacks depth on the blueline like Arizona, Colorado or Carolina. |

He was the Comets best dman and arguably their 2nd MVP after Markstrom. |

They kinda do, but Tippett is similar to WD, the tie goes to the veteran when battling for a roster spot. |

He was alright. Certainly didn't stand out. Decent skater. Tough for guys to get around with his skating, size and reach. |

I can't respond to Nucker's first post for some reason. Long story short: I wouldn't mind the pick but considering he is a similar prospect to Horvat and McCann I would prefer a D. |

Bored and because it is Tuesday, I thought I would put my hopeful predictions for this summer while trying to stay within reason.
Trade Bieksa for Clb's 2nd round pick (38) and Dalton Prout.
Trade Markstrom rights to Dal for Oleksiak's rights
Trade Higgins to NJ for Fla 2nd (41)
Resign RFA's Weber, Clendening, Coraddo, Baertschi, Oleksiak, Vey, Kennins and Grenier.
Sedin Sedin Kassian
Baertschi Bonino Vrbata
Burrows Horvat Hansen
Kennins Vey Dorsett
Grenier
Edler Tanev
Hamhuis Weber
Sbisa Clendening
Coraddo Prout
Miller
Lack
Draft Kylington(23), Beauvillier (38) and Andersson (41). - belcherbd
Fair trade but I highly doubt Bieksa would wave to go play in Columbus.

Much as we are stuck with Miller, they are stuck with Lehtonen, different situations obviously. I honestly don't know enough about Campbell but I saw that he was in the ECHL for a stint this last season so assumed he was struggling. - belcherbd
We are not stuck with Miller. By trade deadline he will be half way through a short contract and upon rquest Miller has to provide a list of teams he waives for. Even at a small return, the Canucks come out on top since he was a free agent contract. |

If he puts up the same sv% he did this past season, I don't see teams lining up for him... |

We don't need teams to line of for him. Just need 1 team he is willing to play for make a trade. Even if it's a draft pick, we get something for nothing in the end.
The same language is getting used as when the Luongo fiasco went on. A contract which would last an entire generation of players for this same money... a player who wanted out, a player who would only go to where his wife wanted... and he was traded. I thought we were stuck with him... we were not.

It took A LOT of crazy things from both parties to finally send him packing though and he's flat out better than Miller anyway. |

Except they are not paying Sbisa 3.6 to sit and be a 7-9 dman. Switch bart and Sbisa and thats your dmen. Unless they trade edler as well, in which case sbisa is with tanev. |

So you think Millers contract is more difficult to move than Luongo's was... ok.....
