If it's role players, or players that aren't going to be significant difference makers then sure. I think GMs would be hesitant to trade (not that it would ever happen) a Stamkos or Hedman to Florida for Huberdeau or Ekblad when they play them 5-6 times a year and possibly then in a playoff series. - DariusKnight
I understand your examples. Maybe it would generate fan interest?
I was going to say if Lack went to the Oilers, it would help sell out those game, But I am not sure if they are sold out already , if they aren't, I think McD will fix that.
Not against the idea of trading a need for a need and it is better if it works out for both parties. Better hockey to watch. |

It was very exciting hockey to watch. This young team is really impressing me and giving me hope for our future prospects. Clendening had a bounce back game imo. Biega was solid again. Jensen is finding his stride. Beartchi is an NHLer for sure watching this series. Markstrom is relaxed and making veteran plays that NHL goalies do. (lets hope he can translate that to the NHL) Shinkaruk was hurt but returned at the end of the second and played well after a hit. Defazio got destroyed with his head down behind the net and continued to play. Fans in Utica were awesome. I like Wacy Hamilton. Corrado was good along the boards. Good team effort. - thundachunk
It allows us "to dare to dream", was really a good team effort, hopefully all this winning culture mindset turns into reality in the future. |

They are always sold out their fans are horrible for supporting them with the $hit Lowe and co have put on the ice for years. Katz is just lapping it up. |

Isnt it funny how Jensen is in and out of the line up but scoring goals when he's in. There's some serious issues with him. I have thought for a while that he won't do the work to make the NHL but will tire of waiting for it and go play in Europe instead. I'm past being patient with him. 1st rounder

Definitely needs an attitude adjustment, he just doesn't fit on the Canucks OR Utica's roster at this point. |

It would be nice if he finished up the series on fire. Maybe recoup some trade value. He's a bust though. He'll be lucky if he has a 200 game nhl career. Another example of ruining a first rounder by leaving them in jrs/minors too long. And sigh......... This is what some people want them to do to Virtanen |

It's not leaving them in the minors too long, the problem is he's always been a tweener. He was miscast as a top-6 power forward/sniper and he doesn't have the defensive game for the bottom six. You have to remember that Virtanen missed most of this year with a serious shoulder injury that's just now getting better. If he doesn't make the team out of camp another year of junior won't hurt him developmentally. |

I would like you to give examples of players that were in the AHL that were ruined by staying in the minors too long. Detroit leaves their prospects in the minors for as long as possible and they have a 24 year post season streak. |

I wouldn't be surprised.
Babcock is going to make Toronto a likable place for players to play.

Vancouver will be the worst Canadian team in three years. That is why it makes no sense hanging on to any of the old guys start the rebuild now |

Great teams keep up with the times.
I respect what the Sedins Hamhuis and Burrows did but it is time to go.
Bieksa Edler I feel even less of a bond.
Higgins I don't feel a bond
Hanson still has purpose. |

Three years is the best case scenario. If core players pull a Kesler if asked for a list, it will be longer, it they get moved at all. According to EK's "rumor chart" the wise one anticipates no player movement at this time. |

You don't develop top 10 picks...you maybe allow them a year or two to get the strength of a man. If you think a top 10 pick needs alot of development you probably shouldn't have taken him in the top 10. These days these kids only have 1 purpose: to play hockey. So they should be nhl ready with in a year or two at the most (Top 10 picks) |

poop drafting, bad management will do that.
I agree. If the NTC's were smart they would be waiving it to another team. The guys who aren't serviceable or in future plans need to go even for cheaper not as good FA's |

I would let them walk then and just clear salary. If Bieksa got put on waivers how many minutes would it take for Buffalo or Edmonton to claim his 2.5 mil salary?
If they don't have player movement they will be playing to empty seats |
