Any move involving Kessel or Phaneuf should only involve picks, prospect, or roster players on their entry level deal. Acquiring ROR then paying him 7mill on a long term deal would be a disaster.

agreed.plus 7 million is a lot of money for a guy who has only topped 20 goals once, including juniors. Guy would be a great 2nd line center at 5-5.5 million, but asking for 7-7.5 on a long term deal? yikes!

also the leafs are absolutely in no position to be giving up major assets for a pending UFA who has been a nightmare to sign every time his contract expired.

Crosby signed a 104 million dollar contract. It's not even remotely close to be the same thing.
