Bozak: out of about 1700faceoffs (lots on PK/PP and in offensive and defensive zone vs topline centers) wins 53% of his faceoffs.

On first line, he's about 40-50points per season - he would probably (?) be around 30-35points on third line (since still on first pp unit).

4.2m caphit is good value for what he brings.

Nobody is saying here he's a #1C.
Neither is Kadri though.

Bozak on a third line with Komarov and another player (Holland on wing? - 45% on faceoffs anyways) would be a very good 3rd line for the Leafs.

Bozak is not the problem. --> a good #3 C-man
Kessel is not the problem. --> first line sniper, 70-80points per season
JVR is not the problem --> good 1st/2nd line winger, 60points per season, good on PP.

Phaneuf is the big problem.
Lupul can leave as well.
Kadri.. give him 1-2 more years, and play him on wing with Kessel.

a 4.2 million dollar 3rd line center is terrible.
Santorelli brought just as much for 1 million.

Bozak is a passenger, he does not drive play at all.. on a 3rd line with Komarov or whoever.. I would guess he has a hard time cracking 20-25 points with out PP minutes

In all honesty, the Winnik trade was perfect. Sign a guy for 1.3 mil, ship him with some retained salary at the deadline to a playoff team for 2 picks and a serviceable bottom 6 guy (which Winnik should have been, except for Randy's insistence to play him with Kadri and Loops)

that's similar to TJ Oshie, Datsyuk last year.
If I'm correct, he's 12/26 in his career, that's definitely top 20 in league.

and on the 'fallacy' of him putting up the numbers bc of Kessel and JVR, and when playing on 3rd line he would have way lesser numbers: depends on how Bozak is being used. Since he is good on faceoffs, he gets alot of defensive zone starts (when not with Kessel) so it's obvious his points totals drop.
So it's not just linemates, but as well point drop caused by defensive zone starts (vs offensive zone starts when with Kessel)
