I crunched the numbers and here is the correlation graph going back to the 2004 lockout.
r = 0.3315
Exactly –1. A perfect downhill (negative) linear relationship
–0.70. A strong downhill (negative) linear relationship
–0.50. A moderate downhill (negative) relationship
–0.30. A weak downhill (negative) linear relationship
0. No linear relationship
+0.30. A weak uphill (positive) linear relationship
+0.50. A moderate uphill (positive) relationship
+0.70. A strong uphill (positive) linear relationship
Exactly +1. A perfect uphill (positive) linear relationship
So there's a weak relationship.
Interesting not is there are season with very strong relationship and one that are really weak ( like 0.03 weak) |

When the Leafs select their first pick.
ends after they select the 24th.....unless they make a trade |

Sounds like alot of fun! And I think every Leafs fan should be excited for this draft, no reason you guys won't get at the very least 1 very good player out of this.
I'm quitting my job in a week so I'll get to watch the whole thing at home... even If I barely know any players past the second round... - Scabeh

So what the graphic is saying is that there is a correlation, but it's not strong enough to say think that one causes the other.
There could be other factors as centres that are good players tend to be good at face offs. |

Better do your research or have the following list of cliches ready:
- He's a fast, Diminuitive & extreme skilled player
- Plays with heart
- Good old Canadian Boy
- Plays two way game
- Not afraid to hit anything
- Underrated
- Surprise pick
- Sleeper pick
- High Risk High Reward player
- Low risk, low reward player
- Can really shoot the puck |
