wow...no pushback from me on this...must be getting soft....

i have stated numerous times 29 has no legs, can't skate anymore....could be his knees or a combo with other injuries...he can't skate...no way for him to keep up vs this bolt team...

not being able to skate (and he never was a good skater) impacted the rest of his game...passing, shooting, and even checking....

finding a suitor for bicks if he can pass a physical is going to cost stanbow...i don't know if he could give him away right now...

- bogiedoc

I don't think finding a trade partner for Bicks will be hard at all.

There will be a number of clubs that will pursue him...they will be happy to take the odds that his numbers will rebound...and cup winners are in demand.

So here's the simple solution to Wiz's problem. From this blog forward, the contest to try to be "first" on the new blog is now changed to try to be the first person to post "last" on the old blog immediately after the new blog goes up. So when you see a new blog up, you don't race to type "first" on that blog. You go to the old blog and immediately type "last". First person to type "last" on the old blog with a time stamp after the new blog posting wins.

In this way, Wiz will always see "last" and know there's a new blog up and running.

You're welcome, Wiz. I love your insight and dont want you frustrated!

- Cmonalready

It is good to see there is a REAL problem solver here! Thanks!

I hope all oblige, maybe even you post FIRSt on the new one, then go back and post last on the last blog.

It's just I usually go to my history and get back in, and type slow and there I am blabbing away-very similar to one talking to themself.

Tampa is playing what is called TALL around Kane, encouraging him to the outside...the frustrating thing is that Kane seems to be okay with this. He needs to skate hard with the puck (like he did in the 3rd period last night) and attack the net which will result in breaking down the defence...this creates opportunities and open space for the other forwards. Kane doesn't have to be the one scoring, but he does need to start generating chances and you can't do that from he boards!
- MexicoHawk

And the left side of their defense and the wings he has coming back are long reach bigger guys with girth and have no qualms making contact. The there is less space unless he takes it and with might come those bumps.
Kane knows he is not a weapon if on his backside, or sticked up.
I agree, now is Showtime and the show begins not worrying about the big guys and getting greasy.
I don't care which goalie it is the Blackhawks need start with shots maybe less percentage ones that may rebound, but it seems increasing clear that the defense cannot be good in their end, clean up messes in the center zone and hard pinch in the attack zone if the forwards are also not putting the work to get back.

All the games in the other series I dreaded the next game, but this tine I can't wait to watch Saturday's match because I think the will be a bit more finality to this match up, either the Indianhead coming up big or the fearless unphased upstarts contyinue to just come in waves...

I know this sounds idiotic, and the contrary was debated before last game, but any chance Q picks one Dman (of Timonen, TVR, Cumisky) to play 14 min while rounding out the corps and go with 13 forwards?

your counter is probably realistic...my bicks speculation has more to do with this health...i am postulating a more pessimistic physical status that may even be a career ender. If reality is less dire sure there is a market for him. His on ice performance the last half of the year and through the playoffs has been putrid...i don't think its about will and want to...

The Hawks had 9 shots on goal through the first 35 mins...They kicked in later but TB, as they have had in every game had the edge in play...But that doesn't matter as much as the score. Crawford won Game 1 and Game 4.
- Al

Take a look at scoring chances. Even when TB was "outshooting" the Hawks, the Hawks had as many chances.

This was a TEAM win. Sure, Crow did great but it's absurd to say he won it by himself. Seabrook's play in the slot on Stamkos was as important as any save Crow made.

Not to discredit Crow, but that was a team win.

Bickell probably won't be easy to move with his injury history. Nobody is giving up a bag of pucks to take over his contract. The Hawks would have to pay half his salary and/or take on someone else's problem in return at the very least. I will be impressed if they get a better return than that.

Shaw's trade value has probably gone up this postseason.

Sharp probably goes to a place where a GM is familiar with him, such as Florida or Montreal. They know what his risks are and will be better able to price him.

Crawford will have value. Dubnyk is probably going to get paid, and that will be the comparison for goalies this summer. Crawford should compare favorably given that.

Predicting which potential UFAs stay here seems like a crapshoot until we know what happens with Saad. The only safe bet to stay here is Desjardins, I would think.

Shaw has value but why do people continue to speculate on his exodus. He has another year til he hits RFA and until you have a couple more players that bring his net front presence, versatility and REDASS I'm not sure why the Hawks would even consider it.

Not saying he couldn't be traded but more why would you want to?

Trading is the name of the game isn't it? Personally I can't wait for this mindless hockey season to be over so we can get to what's important, trading players and signing free agents. I'm hoping the Hawks trade half the team. I'm an advocate for cutting the season in half then having 4 or 5 trade deadlines throughout the season to keep us hard core fans happy.

To me, i find it far more likely that he will be "added in to a larger trade" than traded himself... like someone saying, "fine we will take Bickell or Sharp and help give you some cap, but we want Shaw then too..."

Again not saying it can't but Stan would be off his rocker to throw Shaw into a deal that gets you cap space.

I see someone like Nordy or another prospect potentially...

Sharp has enough trade value that you're not going to have to sweeten the pot to get someone to take him off your hands. Bickell not as much, but as long as Stan doesn't expect more than a Bag-o-pucks in return, there will be no need to sacrifice a key cog like Shaw to get it done.

No team that takes Bickell or Sharp will be doing so as a "favor" to the Hawks. They would trade for them because they want to acquire a player. You shouldn't have to throw in another player to sweeten the deal, unless your return is an NHL player, which won't happen.

GM's know the position the hawks are in... The return on Bicks/Sharp wont be nearly what it "SHOULD" be...

For the hawks to get something tangible in the return, Bicks or Sharp alone wont do it... so maybe a team with the cap does give up a good prospect or higher pick if they also get Shaw.

And my point was that the Hawks wont be looking to outright deal shaw, but he could be moved if it means moving other pieces that "need" to be moved.

How do we know they want anything tangible in return? Tangible return most likely means tangible salary coming back...which defeats the purpose, at least in Sharp's case. Cap space is what matters most. Picks and minor league prospects are the most likely return.

There will be enough teams interested in Sharp that it won't matter what "position the Hawks are in".

Two wins to go before any of this matters anyway.

By tangible i mean "good picks" and "better prospects". not just 5th rounders and castoffs that never lived up to their original draft position.

In the cap world cap space is a valuable trading acquisition. Bowman went out and signed some College free agents and there is talk Reilly will also sign on with the Hawks. Getting only cap space back for Bickell and Sharp is fine especially with the cap issues the Hawks will have. Look at Bickell going to Phoenix.

Correct... im fine just getting cap space and a 4th/5th round pick.

I was just saying if the hawks try to go after a 2nd round pick to get a prospect they covet... likely they will have to include something more than just bickell by himself.
