Maybe when he makes more money next season we will get more from Kane. Sharp probably figures he is gone anyway, so why care. |

It just selfish Nester...that's what it is.
(frank)ers probably don't even care this the last chance for a guy like Kimonen. WTF do they care, they've already got two rings. All they care about is the Greenbacks. Makes me sick. |

Very good piece at PuckDaddy about Keith's TOI and how amazingly effective he while playing huge mins.
http://sports.yahoo.com/b...ing-topics-133338555.html
: 70 percent of all of Chicago's high-quality chances in this postseason, and 60 percent of its goals, have come with Keith on the ice. - tredbrta

Stole this from Jack on the Bolts thread :
Still very interesting that the Hawks have more SOG, more scoring chances, a higher CF% and FO% in this series and seemingly everyone agrees(including myself) that with the eye test the lightning have looked like the SLIGHTLY better team. Not sure what to make of it....i guess its just further proof at how close things have been. And now the ultimate test comes as the Hawks are known for playing their best games 5-7. Should be fun.
Trending for the Hawks even though to us it looks even so far .
The Hawks have been "bad" and still have won 2 games.
I bet they win the next two.

Not at all, from what I have read here, TVR is very much liked and most people agree that he has lots of room for improvement. But it is also fair to say that there isn't something right with either his mind/body or regimen to have incurred all of these serious injuries. The Hawks would simply be irresponsible to trust that TVR would be able to play all 82 games next season based on his lengthy track record. But, if he is brought along slowly, and can remain injury free, TVR has a chance to become a good NHL DMan. - MexicoHawk
Getting TVR a good summer with Hawk staff could help him out significantly in strength (and hopefully add a bit of injury resistance)--like Saad and some others. I don't think TVR's ceiling is off the charts by any means, but we really don't how much higher due to health-related interruptions in his career development & training. He needs a good productive off-season for sure along with more than 20 NHL games to get a better read on him. Q sure seemed to like him...though I'm not certain he doesn't get passed by other prospects in a year or so if he can't get stronger and stay healthy |

Hawkeybuzzers:
Do you think it is a lack of intensity/hunger that is making the Hawks look a "step slow"?
OR is it more a result of the ridiculous team speed of Tampa giving the hawks older legs trouble??
IDK but it just seems that Tampa Bay wants it a bit more to this point...they have 0 Cup champions on their team (right?) and Callahan may be the most Cup-hungry player in the entire series- he is killing us so far-.... I just dont see the consistent "do or die" mentality from a lot of the lineup...looking at you Patrick Kane/Sharp before game 4 - EnzoD
Tampa is damn good. The Hawks always look flat because Tampa goes at 110% for the first five minutes, which is faster than Chicago's 110%. Thus, they are on the back foot. Again, the key is to always weather the storm in the first period and then make a push later.

Bickell think is hurt , The other 5 Sharp looked good the other night Kane looked better in the 3rd after Richards was put between him and Saad TT was on the 4th line and TVR is still young and had not played in sometime . I think our expectation were a little to high on Vermette , but he is still good at the dot and strong on the boards . Think it will be solid game from the 5 tomorrow ..GO HAWKS !!!!!! |

This team came out with obvious emotion and energy the last two game against the Ducks. Lets see if the thought of two wins and a 3rd Cup wakes these guys up. Would be nice to see the energy/jump to start the game. Gut says 20 gets another goal tomorrow. That guy is feeling it. |

They like him. No decisions will be made on who's coming back until:
a) the official cap is announced,
and
b) the Hawks then decide who's going
I think they would like to have him back though - John Jaeckel
I can tell you for a fact, Desjardins likes Chicago. Loves the city and likes playing for the Hawks.
He likes Q a lot (mostly for the fact that Q rolls 4 lines much better than his situation he was coming from in SJ) - so thinking he would stay for a reasonable price if there was mutual interest. |

So kane, sharp, TT, TVR, Vermette, Bickell(he gets a pass bc his brains and body are not there right now) have brought that kind of compete level this series? I disagree. No doubt they are fatigued bc of the complete failure of a 3rd pair and the grind of the Ducks series..but some players need to step up and earn their salaries.
Also, why is Vermette getting such limited TOI? are his legs completely gone? he has been very solid in his limited minutes....id like to see more of the 3rd line tm night - EnzoD
we disagree...are you basing competitive intensity on performance and results...your challenging TVR's compete level after his first 2 gmes in 6 months, vermette works hard every shift, couple of kanes shots go in last game and your calling him superman...
and why do you want to give more toi to vermette if you don't think he has brought a high level of compete.... |

Actually Ogi, MOST people in the gym are ONLY interested in their upper body, because that's the "million dollar look". I know it exists with athletes too from personal experience. Most guys simply don't want to put the same TIME and effort into their "legs" (which means core) as they do their upper body, which has always surprised me. - MexicoHawk
Cuz it's easier to work your arms (curls) than your legs (squats/deadlifts/steps). The legs are the largest muscle group and the farthest from the heart (need blood (oxygen) going to the body part being worked).
That's where the stories of guys puking doing bag skates as I'm sure you know if you haven't seen it firsthand.

Take a look at scoring chances. Even when TB was "outshooting" the Hawks, the Hawks had as many chances.
This was a TEAM win. Sure, Crow did great but it's absurd to say he won it by himself. Seabrook's play in the slot on Stamkos was as important as any save Crow made.
Not to discredit Crow, but that was a team win. - kwolf68
TB does just enough not right to leave the door open...That's becasue they have never won at this level. The Hawks won the game largely becasue of Crawford...In both wins he gave them a chance although being outplayed the majority of the time.
What's absurd is Crawford continually gets the lion share of the blame when the team's offense is inept and they continually turn the puck over...But yet he seldom gets the majority of the credit when his team on home ice gets 9 shots on goal in the opening 35 minutes and he makes many big stops. |

Sure, same with all sports. No matter the sport your power comes from your legs... My favorite example for a kid as I'm working with him/her for baseball is to have them throw awhile and then have them sit on a bucket, or from their knees, and then throw.
That shows em every time that the speed of the thrown ball comes more from your legs than your arm. Same with golf, hitting a baseball, throwing a punch, shooting a basketball and so on.
