Just a quick read, id be annoyed if we signed Brad richardson back, hes a good faceoff man and defensive play, but this team needs to get younger. - phyllee
He's only 30 years old. 21 pts in 45 games for 1.15 is a steal. I'd resign him as the 4th line Center. If anything, he gets injuried and someone gets a call up and some NHL experience. |

He's completely wrong though. Do you see Hall or Nuge putting their feet up? - HonkyTonkMan
Not completely. Money is a huge motivator. That said if that is the case these kids should be working even harder. |

I don't expect that from any Oilers next year.

Won't disagree there. I just don't think he has that other dimension. He's a 4-5 D with PP time....not sure money made him that way. - HonkyTonkMan
He just needs someone to play with. |

Hope so. I heard Eakins 3 hr practices were 40 minutes ice time. 1:15 of lectures ( about what who the (frank) knows) and the rest off ice fitness. |

I always thought he would be best with a Hamhuis type myself. |

He needs someone to teach him that he can use more than his stick to defend. |

I just don't think he's wired like that. Mind you if he sat next to some criminally violent defender everyday it might rub off on him. |

Provided he stays healthy I wouldnt mind him on this roster at all. I rather like what he brings to this team.
however if we could somehow ship higgins to Hong Kong that'd be great |

Paul Martin is available. NJ also has quite a few D that are young. Edmonton has little need for as many pIcks. |

I don't even mean that he needs to start throwing monstrous hits, just using body position to block guys out instead of limply waving at the puck with his stick. A guy like Tanev never lays anyone out, but his body is always between the puck and the opposing player. |

I wouldn't be heartbroken if this was the starting lineup, except I would start Virtanen on the fourth line if he makes the team. And I would hope that Horvat bumps Bonino down a line before the end of the year. |

I like the 3rd line. That is all. Burrows should be gone and Kassian should be on the 4th line with Dorsett and Richardson. Top 2 lines will be a question mark as always.
It is never our bottom 6 that I worry bout.

Isn't that what we're paying Sbisa for? It certainly isn't for his defensive acumen. |

Okay well understandably. The entire team isn't going to be traded. The sedins are going to be our top line. We have no one else who can produce like them. Just because Horvat was showing a bit of potential doesnt put him ahead of a veteran who still played and produced more then him. Kassian is the most developed winger with size. |
