Why would Tampa though? 20 years old, former 3rd overall pick from two drafts ago, makes zero sense for them to move him, unless they are getting a very established player back. |

not sure why the lightning would do that. Even if they were down on him, i imagine at least a half dozen teams will make big offers. |

So, I'm not really sure why this just dawned on me, but does anyone else think that maybe Grigorenko is taking a page out of Zadorov's book with the KHL thing? I know the situation isn't the same, but do you think he's basically using it as a scare tactic to get what he wants? Just seems interesting to me that him and Zadorov are super close and now both have threatened to go to the K. |

Well, if he wants to go to Russia and have to worry about whether or not he's actually going to get his paycheck it is what it is. Not much we can do about it. Seems pretty silly to me that any player would feel it's a better option right now, but I digress. |

The 3 of us that went all really liked it. But, it's kind of hard to mess up eggs I guess, so maybe my exposure was pretty limited.
It was a damn good omelet though. |

Risto = Played Full Season and was not only worthy, but "Outstanding" is his play and development. Has professinal, mature nature that is obvious when watching him play or hearing him interviewed.
Druin = Highly tauted offensively talented foward, saw slight duty as part time forward with most nights watching from press box, at no time was it obvious he was comfortable handleing the NHL game at this moment in his development. He could really turn out meeting or raising his potential but he has not come close to establishing himself as a no doubt FULL-TIME NHL player!
Not to mention that Risto has been doing this at a postition that is "supposed to take longer" to handle! |

RISTO is equal in value to = Druin + Johnson
Sure handed, Big, Mobile D are just worth twice that of equally talented forwards based upon the rarity of the multiy faceted D-Man!
Risto is the Truth!

This is kind of how I see it, but I don't think the gap is quite as big as you're making it seem either. I do think Risto is currently the better player and I certainly wouldn't give him up for Drouin at this point.
Drouin did play 70 of the Lightnings 82 games, so it's not like he sat in the pressbox all that often. Stamkos spent time in the press box during his first year too. Sometimes getting to see things from that vantage point once in a while is beneficial, especially to a young player. |

Lightning probably think the same thing but in favour of drouin.
Early in the year Risto was kind of a mess in his own end, if we had better options i bet he would have sat a few games as well. |

Perhaps. But I definitely think that Risto grew more as an NHLer this year than Drouin did. Most likely both are going to turn out to have long, successful NHL careers. If Drouin was a RW, I'd say they should definitely make a good push for him somehow, but since he's not and there isn't as much of an immediate need for someone on the left, I'd rather keep the assets we have and use them for someone that can fill that void. |
