Yep - this would be a solid top 4 picks (if we keep them all)
#2 Eichel
#21 Roy
#31 Blackwood or Samsonov (though Samsonov may be gone)
#51 Greenway
Alternatively, Trade #21, 31 and 51 for around #10 or 11 and:
#10 or 11 Werenski or Zboril - turbo044
2 - Eichel
21 - Bittner
31 - Kylington
51 - Spencer
Trade a 4th rd pick this and 3rd next year for a goalie in NHL. Someone will bite on that offer. |

maybe but probably unlikely- I was going on McKenzie's rankings and he had Zbotil at #13. Werenski is the one I'd covet to move up for though - turbo044
I really think the sharks grab him at 9 |

I like Brock Boeser at pick 31 - homiedclown
Very solid choice - quite a sniper, decent size. AND RW is a desperate need for us. |

We still need Jeremy Roy in that mix, plays in the style of Ryan Suter. Once we get that kinda guy into the system, I think we'll be ok for a long time. |

I don think the need is so great at D to move up. Granted Werenski is pretty close to nhl ready. There are a handful Of D men you can get late 1st to mid 2nd. So even trading back for a few extra pick wouldnt be a bad idea. |

Don't like Bittner with #21 - we need RW currently, not LW and I think there will be better players at 21 than him.
Kylington at 31 is great risk/reward if he last to 31
Spencer at 51 would be excellent too

With our later picks I say we take Sebastian Aho and Sebastian Aho, just because. Two guys, different countries, different positions. |

LW has very little quality depth. Once Matt Moulson is gone, we need a top 6 to step right in.
I'd say draft a top 6 LW, trade for a young RW. |

I've been on board with that idea since September. It'd be marvelous. |

I like Zboril the most out of the Top 10 dmen. I think hes the steal of the 1st round if you can get him |

Wouldn't be surprised to see picks traded for next year's draft. More picks for a draft in Buffalo, plus more shots at a top 3 pick. |

I think this si about 0% in the mind of Murray. I wouldnt doubt if we traded our 1st next year |

Props Michael, great article as always. Really excited about watching the development of our young guys Ristolainen, Zadorov, McCabe, Pysyk, and Ruhwedel. Especially Ristolainen, hopefully he joins the conversation of all those top defensemen in the league you mentioned in the beginning of the article in the near future. Also, Zack Bogosian is still young and could develop more offensively, either way still a solid top four guy. Zadorov has a high ceiling and hopefully ends up on the top pairing with Ristolainen down the road. Leaving McCabe and Pysyk slotting into the 4 and 5 spots.
As for Ruwedel, I'm under the impression his contract has a clause stating he must clear waivers this year if he's going to be sent down to Rochester. Not sure if that is correct? Weber is on his last leg here and this will most likely be his last year. Hopefully Gorges has a better year and can hold down the fort for a couple seasons until the young guys can take over full time. Keep drafting and developing so when we make cup runs in the future we have the depth and don't have the same issues as 2005-06 season. |

I completely disagree. I think Terry Pegula is letting the hockey guys do there thing, but trading next year's 1st is where he would step in. No owner would allow that to happen. |

For a top flight guy who can turn this franschise into a winner. No question he would deal the pick. |

does coho have a partial nmc?
I have to think a team close to the floor would take a shot on him
the blues had interest at the deadline last year, maybe eat some of the cap, and trade him there for a player they want to unload
hell trade him straight up for jaybow

Not according to this.

Even if he did, it hasn't kicked in as (unless they changed the rules) he needs to be in his UFA years of the contract. |

Two trades and a signing suggestion (I know wont happen);
1. Sabres send Hodgson, Baptiste & 2015 NYI 1st to Toronto (Yuck) for Kessel & 3 million each of the last three years of his contract.
2. Sabres send Moulson, Grigorenko, Pysyk to Colorado for O'Reilly & 2015 3rd.
3. Sign Mike Green or Paul Martin
Then; LW Kane C Eichel RW Kessel
LW Gurgensons C O'Reilly RW Ennis
LW Foligno C Reinhart RW Gionta
LW Deslaurier C Larson RW Varone/McCormick
Gets rid of hodgson, limits cost on Kessel in later years and gets us top line RW
Gets rid of Moulson contract that I think is overkill, and gets that mid 20 player for Grigorenko who wont have position. Losing Pysyk and Baptiste I don't like but you have replacements in McCabe & Bailey/Fasching.
Martin/Green replace pysyk which I would take right now.
Just some ideas. |

#1. No thank you. There is no place for Kessel here. We don't need someone like him on a young rebuilding team to set a bad example for our young guys.
#2 I'd do that
#3 Don't need either of those guys for the amount they will demand in FA. They would not line up in our time frame. |

New Jersey did it when they acquired Schneider and the fans seemed pretty happy. |
