What about Chris Stewart? True, he was awful the first two months of the year but he was their best player for a good stretch of time. He is fairly young, won't cost you any assets and fits the experience profile that so many here female dog about. He isn't my favorite guy but I'd rather get a decent guy off of the street than trade for a vet. - Slump Buster
who knows, maybe a wink wink was exchanged before the trade
my guess is he is going to get close to 4 mil per, and I want no part of that
for that price, give me Sharp for 2 years |

Ok, how about this bizarro world trade.
Hodgson for Miller and another short-term bad contract (too lazy to look for one).
Would either team do it? Vancouver could turn around and sign Lack for much less than Miller makes. The Sabres would have a good goalie for a couple of years so that they could be patient for the next guy. |

Stewart comes for free. I don't think you get Sharp for 51 and I wouldn't give up 31 for him. He'll go to a contender.

I'd give him 1 and then try and sucker another team into giving up another 2nd rounder |

We probably don't have Minny's 2nd one of these years, right? There's always Garth Snow if that doesn't work out. |

Whoever said that? He says a lot more than most GM's do. Maybe "open" is the more appropriate word. He seemed pretty damn clear that he wasn't a fan of Myers. |

Yet he had an interview with NHL.com where he said that it would talk an overpayment to get him, and that he actively never tried to trade him.

What he did wasn't wrong, but the notion that he's this honest, straight shooting GM is kind of funny. He's flat out lied to the media a few times.

I dont remember where i heard it.....most likely WGR, but he said he called Winnipeg inquiring about Kane and they told him the conversation had to start at Meyers, or they weren't even listening. I think prior to that, he honestly wasn't shopping Meyers. I actually think to get Bogosian included in that deal to kinda replace Meyers was actually a pretty good move. I know that has nothing to do with the honesty aspect of this conversation. But I really don't think he was ever shopping him. He just wanted Kane, and Meyers was the main piece in that particular trade that Winnipeg demanded.

That's probably true, I heard from a friend that Kane was the player Murray tried to get during the deadline a year ago, and WPG wanted Myers and Murray said no. I think the development of Ristolainen and Zadorov made the decision easier. |

I definitely remember hearing him saying that Meyers got the conversation going. Bogo may never have the skating and skill Meyers has, but he will be a decent stay at home bruiser that will be able to keep up for years to come. And Murray got the winger he coveted. I think GMTM likes tough D-men over finesse D-men anyway.
you know, Murrayguy!

Grigs played great on the upper lines. If he improves the same this off season like he did last season. We might have a problem with roster spots. Injuries will happen. Reinhart stinks and could be out after 10 games .

Funny how people disregard the fact that he played really well when he got decent ice time/linemates (and that was just like Gionta and Foligno). I want to see him on a good team with good linemates. |
