Was lurking HF for once since I missed the Comets game and wanted to see what people were saying about how the prospects played. Saw a pretty disturbing stat:

I like him as much as anyone, but I'm starting to think we could have gotten a cheaper/bigger tough guy at a more reasonable price to play on the 4th line.

It also seems like he's the go to babysitter for a lot of the young guys. The value of that doesn't show up in his stats but it was probably a factor when they were negotiating his contract.

For a team that is trying to get younger it's a pretty crucial role and it's one that not every fourth line energy player is suited for. The thing about Dorsett is that while not the biggest guy, and not the most talented, he plays damn hard and tries to take a pound of flesh along the way. It's probably a good thing to be exposing our younger players to.





...Those stats are ugly though.

I agree with DariusKnight, means Canucks would work out a trade and Bieksa would then negotiate an extension with that team prior to waiving his NTC.

Shipping him to Utica (if he only has a NTC and not a full No Movement Clause) only saves about $900k. Not worth it.

You can sign 3 Dmen with Bieksas salary. COrrado Clendenning and Bartowski. Watching him play for the last 2 years, all three would be an upgrade.

Draisaitl, if they should choose to trade him, would bring a massive return in the way of a top two defenseman or a starting goaltender.

We have neither of those so I don't see a good fit in Vancouver for him…although I'd love to have him, he reminds me of Ron Francis.
