You can sign 3 Dmen with Bieksas salary. COrrado Clendenning and Bartowski. Watching him play for the last 2 years, all three would be an upgrade.
This is like a junk collector moving into a beautiful home and refusing to throw away old clutter because it has a little value , so they keep the mess - VANTEL
Regardless of the strong feelings people or management may have towards vets like KB3, this is a business, tough decisions need to be made. Bieksa is a vet who's best years are behind him, yet he has value around the league…trade him for future pieces that will help the club down the road. |

Anyone have a time machine so i can skip these 13 days? - Retinalz
Before getting too excited remember we are drafting 23 Rd. Hopefully we can pull out another McCann and not a Schroeder. |

I mostly just want to see what trades are done to acquire more picks |

Benning will ask all 29 teams all summer do they want to trade for KB. If they find someone who will bite then fine. If all other teams say they don't want to talk extension first with him then you move to plan B .
I am sure there will be some taker . I hate this BS that players are throwing back at teams now when they don't fit the team chemistry anymore. Kesler Luongo Bieksa now. Gillis was a (frank)en idiot with all his NTCs |

They took less than market value to get those clauses. Personally, I'd rather pay more and not deal with the NTC for players like him. |

I seen one year when Bieksa was worth more than market value , the other years he was overpaid.
We are going to have to go through the same thing with Hamhuis Burrows Higgins .
I don't see Hamhuis waiving at TDL . Another asset that we will get very little if any value for.
We are stuck in the middle until Canucks start playing hardball |

Hamhuis season wasn't all that bad. Injuried but 1 more point then he did last year in 20 less games. With a more offensive minded D I think he could put up a solid 35+ |

Not sure Bieksa has as much value as most may think. |

I didn't mind Hamhuis at all. Bieksa I thought was horrible.
I was just saying Hamhuis because I doubt if he waives his last year |

Ya it's great when they sign for less but then you've gotta put up with the aftermath when they get old and not as useful.
I believe Bieksa signed his current deal coming off the 2011 season, where he scored 22 points but he had a strong year and he'd previously had two 40+ point seasons. I think he was 28 or 29 years old too…prime for a dman. |

I think he has/had second round pick value before his new clause of wanting to be extended first. |

Just my thoughts, but lesser teams, like a Buffalo, who need a veteran presence would see value in him. Not so much any contending teams. That's the kind of value I see him holding. |

Can they not do a trade pending on him signings an extension with that team? |

Petry just signed for 5.5 million, is he really that much better offensively or defensively than Sbisa? |

That's just pure speculation by one guy, doesn't mean it's true. |

I hate to say it but Booner has been bang on about Bieksa for years.
We do overvalue / undervalue our team, like most fan bases. |

Again that's just speculation by one guy, no one knows other than Bieksa whether it's true or not. Crap gets put out there all the time that isn't true.

He had a few solid years there, but he was never as good as say Duncan Keith or Brent Seabrook…just a good decent player on a good team. |

That's up to him to earn his next contract , not up to Benning to negotiate his contract for his new team. Although the way Benning does contracts it might be an advantage to us.
This is what pisses me off about KB and I say send a sign to other players wanting to play hardball, if you want to put us over the grill , you will be playing in an undesirable city |

If van can get rid of bieska. Should look at trading edler for letang. Give or take a minor pick or prospect either way.

If that's the case, if you can get #31 for Lack, and another 2nd for KB, that would be a huge win for JB. |

Sbisa - manvanfan
Letang is expensive ,long contract, and has health issues. Edler can bring back a serious trade . |

Letang also puts up double the points of edler usually. If he's not healthy and gets injuried. 7.25 in cap relief. |
