If a team were to offer up a deal to move to 7 to get Provorov or Hanifan, I'd be all ears. And I'd pull the trigger if it wow'd me.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want to move too far back in the first. But if it is in the middle of the first where I would still have a shot at Meir or Svenchikov, hell yeah. - MatveiDmitrii
16 and Eberle for 7. Draft Svenchikov.
Good draft. Let's eat. |

Kessel does NOT show desire to work hard. He can shoot the puck. He is not an 8M player, and his contract is not something the Flyers want when they are about to sign Jake - 3flyerkids
Phil Kessel is an absolute gamer. It's a rare quality in a player to be playing with next to no talent for most of his career and still put up the points that he does. The only player from my generation that I've seen do the same things but dominate is Iginla in Calgary. Phil Kessel is an on an island without a playmaker and Toronto sqeezes as much talent as they can out of him to win games. |

I don't know the prospects well enough to know who Svenchilkov is, but 16 and Eberle for 7 would be intriguing. |

We traded for Kessel back in 1988... only he called himself Mike Bullard back then.
Lets not have a repeat, k?

If I'm Edmonton, I'm wanting to see what impact Connor McDavid has on this team. If I'm Edmonton Connor McDavid, Taylor Hall, Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nuggent-Hopkins, Justin Schultz, Darnell Nurse and Nail Yakupov can do under Todd McLellan. If anyone of these guys gets moved, It's for a big time spot of need. |

Provorov or Hanafin at 7 would fill a big need for them I think. |

A lot of above average players selected at 7. Voracek is the best of them. A lot of disappointments though.
2014 Hayden Fleury
2013 Darnell Nurse
2012 Mathew Dumba
2011 Mark Scheifele
2010 Jeff Skinner
2009 Nazem Kadri
2008 Colin Wilson
2007 Jakub Voracek
2006 Kyle Okposo
2005 Jack Skille
2004 Rostislav Olesz
2003 Ryan Suter
2002 Joffrey Lupul
2001 Mike Komisarek

true. i dont even mean like who would you take now going forward.
i just think as far as picks go, suter at 7 was pretty much the best one listed there.
by the way, you guys had some good kessel debate going. most people are far too one sided on the matter in my opinion.
either oh my lord, he would score 3634 goals a year, toronto is gonna get back paulina gretzky's virginity for him, or hes basically grimace's alter ego and isnt worth anything. |

Love it
I am getting ready to start the chant
I remember seeing Chris Gratton with his hockey bag at Philly airport right before the deal with the Lightning years ago in 97, still gives me a smarmy feeling
No good has come from any contact the Flyers have had with the Lightning when you get down to it except for brief flashes from Mezaros and Carle.
Maybe it will change with the draft picks for Coburn and the Bolts losing

I haven't chimed in one way or the other, but I'd be against the flyers trading for him. I would also prefer Suter, but I'm a huge jake fan. |

Best player available but I would certainly lean heavily towards a D man, sure. |

These players would fill a pretty big need for us too. I suppose I'm okay with such a deal if Matt Read goes other way because Eberle strikes me as a young, more skilled Matt Read. At the same time, I'm not interested in another massive deal. I'm also not looking to squander the opportunity to use a high pick. |

Kessel is a streaky player who is very lazy, Iginla brought a physical element to his game. Cannot compare the two. I would take Iginla at 27 over Kessel any day!

Stick with the picks you have, develop them, & see them work well for you years into the future.
If anything move a few bodies to land more picks. |
