Ok, ty I wasn't aware of where these rumors were arrising but I did hear National Media discuss the difficulty of the Rangers will have with the Cap and their younger core.

And as you stated earlier, he does have a NTC, I don't really see him wanting to finish his career in Buffalo, I know we're looking at the future, but he prob sees us as Worst Team in Hockey.
