I didn't know having the second overall pick from last years draft as your #2 center was a "power move", in fact Reinhart is the ideal 2nd line center but you can think what you want to think.
- Stripes77

Wait, why wouldn't he be? If he isn't, then who is? Girgensons? I like Zemgus a lot but he's not a 2nd line center on a good team. Reinhart fits a 2nd line center role well. If it's because he's a rookie let's not forget that we're not exactly in a playoff challenging position.

Let him play with the top 6 instead of putting him with 3rd and 4th line players who can't carry a puck like having Grigo with Scott and Ellis on the 4th line

I'd rather have McDavid.

Or are you saying our pick at #2?

These guys will develop into their roles over time
No need to rush them, or put a particular label on any of them for now
Bylsma even said Eichel might play 18-20min one night & 12 min the next
We've got some time for this to get figure out

Man you Buff fans get testy.. One of YOUR posters came to our blog asking what it would take to get our BEST player from a team that is clearly in a win now window that is closing. What on earth did you think the response was gunna be?? Its a waste of time to talk about.. Nash is not waiving to go to Buffalo of all places. Couple months back Nash wouldn't have even brought back Myers in a deal... according to you

MAYBE
pk is still only 26
Maybe if someof our young guys were a little further along it would make more sense
BC of that,
Most would prob stick with Eichel

Yes, we had a meeting the other day and decided we were going to collectively put on our testy faces.

Everyone overvalues their players. In our (collective) case we don't need a guy like him as we aren't in win-now mode. He makes more sense for other teams.

I don't see Buffalo as a good fit for Nash anyways
Do u think NYR will trade him though?
Doubt they'd WANT to,
But those Cap issues gotta be solved somehow

I don't think there is a chance he is traded. To me this is all media/fan driven rumors. I think the Rangers team you see opening night will be very very similar minus MSL,Talbot and possibly Klein if he is packaged with Talbot.

As interesting as it is to speculate a trade for Rick Nash, if Glen Sather wants a roster player in return, I doubt he looks at Buffalo as an ideal trade partner, unless he has an infatuation with Tyler Ennis.
- buffalofan19

And if you ask me, that wouldn't even make sense on our side, because Ennis is the one decent option we have at RW right now. Yes, Nash is better, but in the end, you're not really helping yourself that much in a move like that.

No, and that's not a slight at PK but the Sabres need a true franchise center. Eichel is that guy.

Reinhart with Kane would be good but then it would mean Girgensons is their second line center. He can be good in that role but I think he is much better suited as a 3rd line shut down center.

Girgensons hasn't even remotely hit his top end yet. He managed to put up pretty decent numbers against the oppositions top defensive pairings all season. On a very good team, he probably is best suited for long term 3C role, but he his more than capable than playing in the top 6. When you have the potential depth we have though, he ends up slotted in at 3.

Ok, no one yell at me please..

I think he is worth a 2nd rounder all day long. I know the sample size is small and the D in front of him was good but the market for goalies is exactly loaded.

A late 2nd maybe. His sample size is pretty small and there is a pretty large market which would keep the prices down. High supply not a ton of demand.

Oh and:

I know its part of the point of this site but its just so pointless discussing trades. fans NEVER agree on what the other guy is worth. If Rick Nash were traded I think it would be to someone that nobody thought of

He probably will go for a second, I think I'd go with Lehner because he's big and Scandinavian and that seems to work out well
