Speaking about Kane. I'd like to hear how some Sabres fans actually think he's going to fit in this year. This kid gets bashed up and down all the time. Has talent though. |

they tend to be more out of whack once you get out of the top 10 - homiedclown
I guess, lots of good talent so I don't expect it to go "Chalk"......most annoying saying on draft day. |

Big Mac has Bittner at 20...that seems to be about right.

Fit into the lineup? 1st line LW.
Fit into the culture? This isn't Winnipeg. |

we also take the first goalie at 31 and take Blackwood.. is that guy as highly touted as samsonov.. i really don't know much about the prospects so i am curious |

I would not stop drinkin if we got JEE at 21. - LamontSanford
Yeah but how man Centers do we need?? Based on what's left in that mock draft, I'd guess we'd take Chabot over JEE |

Talent tends to make people forget forget about any players "big personality" pretty quickly. I think most expect him to be on the ing with Eichel, but we havent even actually drafted Eichel yet, soooo i think we got a summer to get through first.

Nope - though the Russian stigma balances it a bit. Blackwood had a great year in 2013/2014 but did not have a great year this year. I think he was on a lousy team though, which plays into it. |

Big time players have big time personalities. The only problem, right now, is that Kane has yet to establish himself consistently as a big time player.
He's earned most of the flack he's been getting. However, he's very capable of shedding it. |

Excellent work Pach!
Could you imagine a piece this GOOD, with this much time and insight written in the Buffalo Snooze!
They should sign MP to a UFA Contract to get his talent! |

That's the win now plan, with a core of young stars. The minute those old guys become part of your core, you're up poop creek.
- TheSabresTaco
Thank you TACO of Reason.
If there EVER was a team built with a CORE of YOUNG 1st Round Picks that has kept its CORE together while adding players of ANY age to the mix its the Chicago Blackhawks DYNASTY of the past 6 years.
How can people not understand that Chicago didn't add those players while TOEWS and KANE were still Rookies, You add those players when you are challenging for the Cup Every year and it doesn't matter How many times you have to purge the roster of Super Solid Players, I won't list all of them here, but you could make a Playoff team on just the Talent Chicago has shed in the past 7 years.
Using Chicago to explain why the 30th place Buffalo Sabres should load up on 30-38 year olds is the most ludicrious idea I've ever heard on Hoceky Buzz........ [ ] |

Then you must not frequent this site a lot.
Again Icing a team of all kids does not work in the real world. B-C level FA's that will get overpaid is not the way to go either.
What is your cut off age for a player the Sabres should acquire?
Chicago was once a 30th place team you know, and then they kind of went on and won 3 in 6 years... but hey LUDICROUS!!!! |

I personally shy away from takign a goalie in the 1st round. Yes Sam is woth a 1st but best avail at our picks in the 2nd is where id like to be. Sam is the best but the next 2 are not bad options. |

I tend to agree. Not to mention you can try and sign a guy like Niemi or sign back Neuiverth.
You can also float a 3rd rd pick to see what kind of offers you get. Plenty of ways to go about getting a goalie without spending a 1-2 rd pick on one. |

100% agree, the list of 3-5 goalies far surpasses the 1st rd goalies. Like you said a 3rd round pick os well worth the dev time to put into them |

Actually they weren't.
They won the Kane Lotto from the 5th spot.
