my guess is they go after a few cheaper priced players and end up trading with the club, like the nucks did when they got bernier from us

Bickell will probably be moved. They could probably move Versteeg to clear up some room as well. They have plenty of options of guys other teams could want.

I'm sure they'd be willing to dump Bickell for a draft pick or two.

I agree, if im not mistaken they did this before. They have their list of guys "who must be kept" and trade the guys not on that list. Versteeg is one I see being shipped off and Bickel is another good one. They have a lot of UFa's

Bowman has done a very good job of managing things there. He's in a bit tighter of a spot this time I think, but they definitely have some players with over-inflated salaries that could be of interest to some teams on the cheap.

The most important aspect of all of this for the Hawks is make sure they hit on the guys they draft to keep the cupboards stocked. So far, they've been able to do that.
