If we could land 2 or 3 2nds from dealing a goalie, bieksa or are 1st for two 2nds etc. All things being equal take all defense. Anyone of Pilon, kylington, larsson, carlsson, anderson, dunn, carlo, juulson

Hopefully we get lucky hit the lottery and end up grabbing an impact Dman or 2.

Then use the 1st on harkins, debrusk, beauvillier. Id have to think after the top 3 D are taken that roy, zborill and chabot will be gone by 23 anyway.

Speaking of Pens, doesn't look like Sutter is getting any love from the various HockeyBuzz pundits (the consensus is that he's not very good, costs too much, and in fact makes players around him worse). Not quite sure which Sutter they've been watching, as I've found his play to be fairly solid and all around decent. Frankly, it was quite surprising. I certainly wouldn't mind Vancouver picking him up if the price/return was reasonable. I know you're also a fan (check out the hotstove comments for some head-scratching material)

This would be a bad trade IMO, even if we traded Vrbata for him. Cap space is precious, esp with the possibility of it going down or staying the same. Trading 5mil for 3.3mil doesn't save us much. Also, we need picks and acquire dmen. I would much rather draft 3-5 dmen this draft than take Sutter. Unless they gave us Sutter + 2nd rounder(Vrbata is not worth that much) I'd rather trade for a 1st rounder.

Exactly, the big question is, will Sutter be an u/g on Horvat? No, Horvat will be good for 20 goals next season maybe more if he plays like he did in the last half of the season. Is he an u/g on Bones? yes but not worth 1.4mil more for the u/g.

Im not a sutter fan at all. I take bonino. Fully think your last two posts are spot on. We need cap space and picks for Dmen or young Dmen. Perhaps pens sign rielly which would free up pouliot for vrbata but i dont think that would go down.
