Although i would like to get value for them before their contracts expire. They are the only players on the team who deserve to retire Canucks. |

Though I really like the idea of Vrabata+ for Derrick Pouliot, then Bieksa for a 2nd(probably uised in vrbata +), lack for 31st and then edler for 10th. with pouliot we don't really need edler anymore. |

If those are your expectations, prepare to be disappointed.
Pouliot isn't going to be moved although Harrington or Dumoulin would likely be available. They also likely can't afford to take on 5million without a cap dump.
Bieksa could fetch a second if he chooses to waive, I think he has a full NTC.
Lack isn't going to fetch 31, he might fetch a 2nd but not 31 overall.
Edler might fetch 10th but I really doubt mgmt is going to move him, they have been pretty clear about how they feel about him.

Goalie market sucks man, Lack aint getting a 1st. And who knows what kind of an impact Mcdavid will have that could very likely be a 15th overall.
All things considered I'd rather try my damndest to move The old guy before giving up the up and comer.
And if were left with an unproven Markstrom in two years we COULD be screwed. - vancity787
I don't think he's worth a first either, but I can dream. I've come to terms with the fact that we will be trading the younger, cheaper, and in my opinion better goalie.
I would bet that the Oilers 2016 1st will be moved this summer, probably for a defenceman. Even with McDavid they still have a ton of holes and if they don't want to move any roster players then that leaves draft picks to fill them.
If they trade it, they're betting that they will have a much improved season next year, whoever trades for it is betting that they won't . I'd take that bet. I think that they have one more bottom five season before they start turning it around. |

Like I was saying the only way they get traded is if the management is doing them a huge favor as a payment for their years of service and dedication. Benning being a standup guy will ask them if they wish to have a shot at winning the cup. I would not be surprised if we got back a b prospect and 3rd-7th round pick. Any team taking them on would know that they are not renewing and it is going to be a 1 shot deal. If they are traded I can see the management signing them back in the off season for 1 day so that they can retire as Canucks. Either way if this happens it will not be till the very last year at TDL. |

Without a serious change in team personnel I think we'll be screwed anyway in two years' time. Even if Horvat turns into Toews we still have about 5 slots to fill in with elite-level talent before we can start contemplating deep playoff runs.
With how restrictive this league is in acquiring talent, I honestly have no idea how Benning will manage it in under 5 years. |
