If you look at the 8 teams on his list it really makes his limited no trade clause a complete no trade clause. All of the teams are pretty much cap strapped.

If he wants out and they want to trade him he's going to have to open up that list to make it happen.

Astros GM used to work for the Cardinals and was reportedly a jerk or they were mad he left or something like that. They basically hacked the network (or knew his password) and leaked the info to the public to embarrass him.

The Astros GM basically started this database for the team that held everything about the team so scouts and other could access it without having to constantly call each other for information. It kept things like conversations with other GMs as well. Basically a gold mine of information about a team.

I liked that other sign they had, that more or less said, "Conform and like it, or get out," that was posted in their locker room.

Quick question: I heard they were looking at things like scouting reports. So, unless they were looking to "steal" a player that they like but the Astros don't, this seems like a case of laziness, not caring to do your own scouting reports of other teams' prospects. Is this what they were after? I'm not sure what they were trying to gain.

yes, it was me. the article, based on my quick skim, said it appears they were after player information as well as about potential deals etc...anything regarding players an potential moves.

why houston, specifically? i don't know. either way, it's (frank)ed up.

Sure they had some interest but if they are among finalists, it is a very well-kept secret. Then again, whenever they have been among supposed front-runners of late, the guy signs elsewhere.
