He would be younger and I would assume would have at least a little better ceiling.

Combine that to the fact he would be cheaper then Quaider and probably doesn't have the injury history that follows Quaider and maybe it would make sense.

Reality is that our D as is will be.......at least right now.......

Chara-Hamilton
Seidenberg-?
Krug-?

Those question marks right now are rookies from providence at about $750,000 per.

Old guys we hope bounce back.....
Rookies we hope can play solid NHL hockey........
A small PP specialist.......

I know people disagree, but Hamilton is the most solid bet of our D core right now. He does not have anywhere near as many question marks as the other guys.

EDIT......Hayes would have cost us $25,000 LESS than Pasta at the beginning of the season, and would have been far more NHL ready size wise. Or we could have dumped Paille or Campbel.....ugh......sorry for being Mr. hindsight on this one.

Hamiltons solid no doubt, I expect seids to be better more removed from his knee injury, Chara... I just don't know, it seems like he should have had surgery, but never did, and never looked like he recovered, and broke his foot to boot. THere's miller and Morrow, and Player X... would like to see Reilly as that player X

I think he was referring to the "cancerous Kessel" comment. I believe the comment was intended to refer to him as a cancer in the locker room, etc... but it was taken as a joke about him having cancer.

You are probably right. I did edit my post, but apparently sarcasm hasnt reached that far north yet.

The Bruins certainly could use Phil's speed and skill. They are in incredibly slow team. That said, their cap is screwed and I don't see how it could work.

dude come on. he can skate, when he wants to, and shoot. other than that he doesn't make players around him better, he's a total dog and he gives no effort on defense.

people always hang their hat on the regular 30 goals thing. great. if he gave a (frank) he could be a regular 50 goal guy. but alas, he doesn't give a (frank).

Incredible how all Toronto fans on here think Kessel is super elite yet the all want to trade him and his "market level" contract?

Toronto fans are not biased and they do not overrate their players. They're the center of the Hockey universe.

I by no means think he is the answer. But as a fan that knows we are super screwed right now, I'm kinda just latching onto anything that may benefit us as a team.

But, if it was Chia Pet he would go with Quaider, for $4.5 mil per for 4 yrs and a NTC.

Maybe a kid after three or four years in college for $900k - $1.5 mil is sometimes the better solution.
