what else are they gonna do? not gonna lose him for nothing. and his value is not high trade-wise. there are lots of potential goaltending options out there, definitely a buyers market.

No we really don't have tons of money. We still have a cap and don't want to be sandbagged with crappy contracts. I don't know why people think the leafs will just take any crappy contract bag in any trade. This team needs flexibility.

only 2 who will cost anything to resign.

I think after the cap goes up we'll have 23.5 million to spend on those 2 + fill our holes, which realistically will be around 1 million per.

and what i was saying was they pay bernier an extra 1 mil over his 2 years to make the deal happen to keep it to 2 years instead of 3 or more.
