There are compliance buy outs x2
Unlimited regular buyouts - VANTEL
And compliance buy outs were expired last summer regardless of if a team used them. |

I could possibly see #51, if we decide to go that route. Hard part is, there is a few free agent options out there as well.
I just saw Darren Dreger tweet that Buffalo is pushing for a Cam Talbot trade at the moment (along with CGY,FLA,EDM,and DAL). I think it would be best for the Canucks to wait out this little fiasco and see what they can really value their young goaltenders in the market.
Plus, whoever loses out on Talbot should be sure quick to give y'all a call. - Sabre_Tooth
If talbot does get that $16 from edm, lack will get a late first early 2nd for sure. similar stats and Talbot had the(by a massive margin) better team. |

It is a concern. In every interview Benning says we will get bigger grittier faster and more skilled. It is not only one thing . - VANTEL
Interesting that while Benning has preached size and grit, the only player he has acquired of that ilk outside of the draft has been Dorsett.
Clendenning, Baertschi, Vey, Vrbata don't fit that mold.
edit. Pedan would fit the mold I guess. |

If you are not getting 31-35 with Lack it will be Markstrom going.
Lack will be packaged for a good deal |

Bennings eyes were opened in the playoffs last year. All those trades were prior |

Maybe I'm biased, but you Canuck fans sure don't give Miller enough credit. Yea it was unfortunate he went down with an injury late, but for watching him for years in Buffalo, you have one of the hardest working team player goalies in the league! The fight just doesn't stop in that guy.
P.S. I wouldn't mind taking Lack from you guys, but with the goalie market how it is right now I've got no clue what GMTM is deciding to do. - Sabre_Tooth
This base is highly divided when it comes to Miller. Its not all of us. Miller issue is battle between a bunch of us regular posters.
I'm Jeb Bush and I approved this message. |

The difference being that NYR don't need to trade Talbot but Van needs to trade a goalie.
If lack gets a late first early 2nd I doubt many will be upset, unfortunately it is far from guaranteed in a supposedly deep draft. |

Most people are using this logic. Same stats go with the younger cheaper.
There is no market for Miller so I have settled in and accepted RM |

Ferland destroyed the Canucks - VANTEL
I know its moot but if Kassian wasn't hurt I think we see a very different outcome concerning Ferklund. |

Can't rely on a guy injured and healthy scratched that many games |

2 more years is such a short window the Miller deal is a total non issue for me. He is a great goalie.
I think everyone is so focused on what to do with Eddie they are over looking Markstroms new value. I wouldn't be surprised if our goalie situation remained the same minus markstrom. Eddie will get his money and Miller will move on in 2 years time. next season we will see Miller as a constant starter and the year after he will be back up. |

Its not that we're saying he's bad. Its that for what our team is, which is a rebuild in process. Miller is not a goalie we need to nor want because he has a high cap hit and is a veteran who is most likely looking to make the playoffs and fight for a stanley cup. Canucks as a team is not built for such a thing especially with our old core that every team in the league seems to have figured out. Ex Sedins play the board and pass to the slot for the tip in goal.
Canucks are done until the Sedins retire |

If TO isn't #1 then this list need to come with *. As in *"fanbase" is defined as being 60 years old or older and a hockey fan throughout.
Really don't think anyone under 60 years old is reveling in those 13 cup wins, or the one from '67, unless you're Sensnucksnocup of course. - AlexF

Has Benning stated anywhere what his targeted goal is for next season (playoffs, re-set, re-build, etc)? |

His interviews are all over the map.
He uses we want to be competitive a lot .
He wants to get bigger younger faster stronger and more skilled but has not asked anyone to waive
He wants more draft picks but they haven't discussed trades yet |
