Why does everyone have baun penciled in. He didn't look bad but only played because he had a clause like carey the year before we're he had to play. I also hope we get Wilson in a trade. We know the top six my bottom six would be
Dejsardans - kruger - shaw
Mashinter/wilson someone tough besides nordstrom then danault- and what ever rookie plays the best baun Hartman McNeil or versteeg - vandymeer23
Hartman will be with the Hawks on opening night. He plays with the something that no one else does, he will make the squad before any forward in Rockford, unless Kruger isn't resigned, then I think both Danault and Hartman make the club out of camp.

As a depth, 7th dman... - HawkintheD
I actually think when a few of us discussed, it was really 8th Dman, but ya more an insurance, not play that much, maybe once every 3 or 4 games.
And really, its because the assumption is he'd come cheap 750K for one year, and even though slower, Q likes his experienced guys.
I will add again, he played pretty good during Minn series, and how many of us were wishing he was still around in the two series after?
Just don't think you can A.) Have rooks at 4,5,6,7 slots, and B.) You are going to find many decent vets for 600K - 700K |

Hartman is one of the reasons why they aren't going to rush into re-signing Desi and if they do it will be for no more than what he made last season.
And I hope I'm wrong, but if Stanbo gets a substantial trade offer for Andrew Shaw he just might do it because he thinks Hartman can replace him. |

You think Hartman can replace Shaw? There are so many intangibles Shaw brings besides being a physical presense. He is one of the best in the NHL at setting up a screen on the powerplay, he gets the big goal, he is defensively solid, yes he can be undisciplined at times but that is probably part of what makes him the player he is. Can Hartman replace Shaw? Those are pretty big shoes to fill at the same time I don't want to put a role player into core player catagory but he's one of the few who actually comes close. |

No, I didn't say I thought Hartman could replace him. More that if a very substantial offer for Shaw came along, Bowman might bite on it. I don't know what that offer would be or from who, but my guess is that lots of teams ask for Shaw in trade discussions.
Like you, I don't want him traded because of all of the things he contributes to this team which are next to impossible to find on the open market or thru the draft. |

Shaw is a tremendous 4th line winger...does the job, plus scoring. But what I think makes Shaw indispensable is his skill on the PP.
In my world Shaw will remain a Blackhawk for at least one more contract. |

No twisting...just pointing out your major oversight.
And we disagreed about your original point...I don't want Cooke anywhere near the Hawks organization and you think it's a terrific idea.
No... - ArlingtonRob
I honestly have no interest in continuing this, so if it makes you feel better you can be crowned internet champion of the week.
Please read my posts more carefully in the future, as I meant no disrespect, and much of the animosity could've been avoided. |

Oh yeah, I saw it and then watched Crawford put his head down and veer right to his teammates not looking back.
You are correct. Escalator is what Bettman is ASSUMING will be approved to get cap up to 71 million. Bad Canadian dollar has kept the growth pretty small on HRR.
I posted this yesterday but I firmly believe Crawford is the contingency plan. They deal him, they can extend Seabrook and then start promoting a core of Sadd, Kane, Toews, Hossa, Seabrook, Keith, and Hammer. with fill in parts below.
These next few weeks are really going to shape how quickly this team can contend OR stay in contention for another cup. Lots of LARGE decisions facing Stanley. Similar to 2010 but of course.....nobody wants to paint it that way - SteveRain
You need to watch the tape again... McD smiled in the background when Crow dropped the F-bomb, as the crowd cheered. |
