Frozen four.
It is tough for me to try and change my view on eichel based on just this.
He is Toews like in terms of strength and sees the ice well.
You gotta understand the jump to college is abig omne in terms of bigger older guys knocking you...and pro, well you gotta come ready.
I would stand in line to obtain Eichel's services - and kid s are just that.
I remember a taxi cab party boy supreme who has somehow charged the Chicago perception of him so Eichel can change for the better, if there is a entitlement issue. (Interesting just remembering how the teams thought Kesell and his da were that way?)
Eichel is a goal scorer, a very intutitive set up guy and doesn't take the defensiev side off.
Look at Sam Reinhart, Sam bennett, Leon Draisaitl, Sasha Alexsander Barkov, or Jonathan Drouin, Sean Monahan, Nail Yakupov, Filip Forsberg, even Nathan MacKinnon who is clearly above the names i mentioned before him...and none is close in terms of having the rare combination of all tthe parts, the game , the head, the feet, hands, stick are Eichel.
To select him is a no-brainer; you get an NHL player no matter if he reaches his high water mark if he ends up on wing or if he plays as thrid line guy. There is no chance of NOT getting a NHL guy from his selection. - wiz1901
I seem to recall in a past blog that someone said that the Blackhawks Front Office loved Eichel... |

I don't get that comparison at all. Joe is a quiet fun loving guy.
Eichel has been coming across as a complete douche.
Completely different playing styles too. Eichel is a puck hog. Joe is a pass first guy. - Iggysbff
99% sure this comparison was based on my source's opinion of Thornton, who he knows and knows of quite well. Not that they're right necessarily, but it wasn't in a positive light. |

Blues best forward in their history to date had a personality and rarely said what management wanted him to say.
Of course, he didn't win any cups until he left for other teams. |

Correct.
As far as the cap number, I heard NHL Network say that it should be revealed just before or on draft day (6/26). - darkman
Which is simply ridiculous, this has to be a known factor day 1 of the offseason or preferably before. |

who cares if eichel acts like a punk in interviews, if he scores goals and wins games for your team, none of that matters |

Don't get me wrong on Eichel. He is a great talent who any other draft years is THE GUY. And remember ' taxi cab party boy supreme' had to answer to many people in Chicago, if Eichel is that way inclined who will set him on the right track, Evander Kane? Hopefully for Buffalo, Eichel is as humble, disciplned and dedicated as Jonathan Toews and can steer himself down the right path, because there won't be a Toews, Hossa, Keith Sharp, Seabrook, etc to help him. |

It is known where it should be. But the Nhl and Nhlpa are negotiating it. Nhl wants to push it a bit higher than revenue says it should be. Players don't want higher escrow. It will likely come in around 69 again. |

Exactly. It was kind of fun to see management act so riled up, especially Keenan, when Hull opened his mouth. |

The golden Brett? - darkman
of course. In a span of a few years, the Blues sent the retiring Bernie Federko to Detroit for Adam Oates and Rick Wamsley and Rob Ramage for Hull and Bozek. You would think that would make Ron Caron a genius but sadly, two good deals does not a Cup Winner make.
Calgary won the cup with Ramage playing a big part which most discount a ton when saying how bad the deal was for Calgary. Give up the future to win now is all that they did though they were wrong in evaluating Hull. |

I believe the Cap Number was released around noon on draft day last year as well IIRC. - Hawksandhabs11
and teams and fans were pissed. It should have been released at least 2 or 3 days before that.
The NHL needs to get their heads out of their asses and start acting like a professional organization. |

The Chicago Blackhawks demands for Patrick Sharp are reportedly sky high.
Chicago reportedly wants a first round pick, top-tier prospect, and a top-six forward on an entry-level contract. There's nothing wrong with them putting up a high price now so that they have something to work down from, but it would be shocking to see a team meet those demands. It is worth noting though that the weak UFA market might lead to Chicago getting more for him than some might suspect, even if they won't end up with everything they're demanding. Sharp had 16 goals and 43 points in 68 contests in 2014-15 and will turn 34 in December. He has two years left on his deal with a $5.9 million annual cap hit.
