I was gone too. First guy I looked for when I came back was HA, then Laughs, then , Iggy, then Napolean, then Jero and then another 40-50 posters, but after all those guys I looked for you.

These cronies have gone wild. They go through 3-5 alts a day.

But much like you I've been busy. Playoff time is horrid for me, consumes much of my life. Then Basketball was on so I watched that as well. I essentially became a burden to society.

I disagree, you're always a burden to society

Ek is all over Craig Anderson's balls....maybe they can deal Hiller, let Ramo walk and bring in Anderson to start with Ortio backing up? I'd like that.

Agreed!
I'd rather us overpay someone in UFA by 2million dollars (we'll still whine about it)
then have make a trade giving up draft picks PLUS serviceable players that just creates another hole on our team (I would say Wideman and Hudler are definitely more than just serviceable...they play a major role on our team!!)

Then you're still left with Okposo being UFA the following year and possibly losing him or having to overpay him anyway!!!
Let's skip losing draft picks, prospects and throwing away great parts of our team in Hudler/Wideman and just throw out some UFA money instead

I agree that it would be a steep price to have to pay for Okoposo and I don't think I would want to give up 2 - 2nd round picks in this draft. I just read that Bob McKenzie has stated that when polling scouts on the 1st round of this year's draft a span of 55 players were posted on their draft boards to be in the 1st round. That would mean that the Flames would have a shot at picking 4 players that were scouted to be in the 1st round of a very strong draft class.

If they are going after FA's I would rather see the Flames take a chance on a Chris Stewart than a Ward. It would be cheaper and in my opinion if the "Hartley Way" could reform him back into what he was in Colorado there would be a much bigger possible upside to his game. It would be a worth while gamble in my opinion. A 1 yr $1-1.5 million dollar deal or 2 year $1.5-2 Million deal for a RW power forward would be worth the risk.

I agree, I'd much rather just see us resign Jones than Stewart (at least we know what we'd have). The best thing about Ward is that he is not a project, he shows up, competes hard, and would fit seamlessly into Hartley's system.

I think Ward is attainable because I really think he is after a pay-day. Before anyone tries to hold that against him just remember that he was around 28 years old before he made the NHL full time, only an idiot would pass up an opportunity to capitalize on a chance to be financially set for the rest of their life.
