I know Ek says sources tell him that contrary to reports the Flyers are not looking to move any of their young d-men prospects, but my question is, when did rumors even start that they were looking to move any of them?
Looking to move Grossmann, L. Schenn, or even AMac? Okay, I get it. Looking to move Sanheim, Morin, Ghost, or Hagg? Doesn't make sense how that would have gotten started unless it went "If the Flyers draft Hanifin/Provorov/Werenski, they could look to move one of their other young d-men prospects for a forward prospect" |

It's nonsense. Same as all the dumb rumors about washed up Free agents the Flyers won't go after. So why even bring them up? |

And given the state of information flowing out of the organization I even question sources telling him anything. |

That and a lot of guys just speculate about the Flyers, because it's the Flyers. McKenzie said Philly was on Kessel's list & boom ten rumor mongers post Kessel to Philly. Staples from Newsday say the Isles are shopping/listening to offers on Okposo, and there are 6 blogs about Hexy & Snow working the phones. |

Mock Draft updates:
Gare Joyce -
7. Philadelphia Flyers: Mikko Rantanen, RW, Turku
A prototypical power forward. Comparisons to Joel Armia are not operative. Rantanen has a better motor. (still on the board... Werenski, Barzal, Connor, Crouse, Zacha. Meier goes 27th)
29. Philadelphia Flyers: Filip Chlapik, C, Charlottetown Islanders
Recent drafts have been focused on the blueline. Some scouts don’t like his skating and think he lacks a fourth gear or even a third. Goalie Mackenzie Blackwood a shot here.
Damien Cox -
7. Philadelphia Flyers: Mikko Rantanen, RW, Turku (still on the board... Werenski, Barzal, Connor, Crouse, Zacha, Meier)
29. Philadelphia Flyers (from Tampa Bay): Colin White, C, U.S. NTDP
Jeff Marek -
7. Philadelphia Flyers
Ivan Provorov, D, Brandon Wheat Kings (WHL): A truly gifted player who does it all for the Brandon Wheat Kings. The Flyers' blueline will be set for the next 10 years with Provorov, Travis Sanheim, Samuel Morin and Shayne Gostisbehere. (still on the board... Werenski, Barzal, Connor, Crouse, Rantanen, Meier)
29. Philadelphia Flyers (from Tampa Bay)
Brock Boeser, RW, Waterloo (USHL): The Flyers pick up the hardworking winger who put up big points in the USHL.
Here's a collection with some crazy people involved.

I'd rather see them take an impact forward with their first pick and get one of the defensemen that'll be there late in the first round like Brandon Carlo, Jakob Zboril, or Gabriel Carlsson. The top ten forwards are as close to a sure thing as we've seen in recent years and they already have a ton of defensemen prospects right now. Obviously a lot of us are hoping Lawson Crouse somehow gets past New Jersey. In fact, I think Proporov is a better pick for them than Crouse is. I'd take Zacha, Rantanen or Marner over Proporov as well. That's just my preference. However, I won't be disappointed if they took Proporov and went "the best available player" route because he's a great talent. They have a great pick this year. |

I'm salivating at the thought of umberger, vinny, grossman, luke, and Rinaldo donning the Orange and black again. I've got no time for this nonsense either - Just5
Maybe more like rabies foaming at the mouth, at the thought of Vinny, Rinaldo and Umburglar |

I want a D man at 7 then BSchenn packaged with 29 to move up as far as possible for the best LW available.
Probably won't happen but whatever. |

I guess it depends on the Flyers board....if their sitting there in rnd 2 and a guy they have rated as a first round talent is still there then it makes sense to do what they can to move up provided the price is palatable....honestly I think the Flyers move a couple of guys at the draft for mid to late round picks....hexy beleives the more you have the more chances you have to hit. |

I think the Leafs grab Marner. Especially if they end up moving Kessel.
The Devils and Canes are the two teams that I can't predict at all. |

Everyone has differing viewpoints on if the season is a throw away or if they are in the playoff hunt.
I want a scoring winger more than another defenseman with #7
Also several cryogenic stasis pods to keep Giroux Voracek Mason Couts and Simmonds in their "YUT" while "all the young dudes" develop.....
Thank you David Bowie........ |

Jordan Greenway is a guy I'd love to see them take. He's a LW at 6-4 224 pounds and will go somewhere in the middle of the first round. I wouldn't wanna trade Brayden Schenn though. He's not that far away from hitting his stride. And at only 2.5 mil this season, he's a lot of bang for his buck and he's young and still growing as a player. It's also a plus he can play all three forward positions. Hopefully he can carry over his pace that he ended the season with into next season. It would be freakin sick if they got Proporov and Greenway somehow though. Or Crouse and Greenway. |

I'm only leaning towards D because that winger can eventually be had via trade. You just don't get to trade for D men that went top 10 unless something is wrong with them.
Sanhiem seems like a hit but that is no guarantee. And Morin is still a huge wildcard. Hanifin, Provorov or Werenski would go a long way to solidifying a core back there.
