Bringing back Martin at a reasonable home town contract if that's what he wants would be a coup. Sets our top four and makes our d prospects which are really our only good trade chips comfortably expendable. - Victoro311

Im Ok with Martin as long as Scuds is gone. No point in having both of them. Martin will get/want 4 years...by the end of the deal he will be Scuds 2.0. |

Yohe has a new article up on DK's site. Basically says Martin isn't coming back. Good read if you're interested. Player by player assessment on where they stand with the the team. |

2014 GMJR - "I'm going to get some wingers." - The next day signs Erhoff for $4M.
NO WINGER!
2015 GMJR - "I'm going to get two top 6 wingers." - Is he going to repeat the same mistake - sign Martin for $4M/yr for 3 or 4 years - could then turn into Scuderi 2.0. in a few years.
THEN NO WINGER - sorry Pens, no playoffs. |

Yeah, I agree. If anyone is getting the inside feed it's him.

Beleskey camp turning down 4mill AAV , unsure of term, but he isn't worth that at all. |

have to say, I questioned DK when he left the Trib... I didnt think the site would work out.
I'm eating my words through because he has done a very nice job with it and it seems like it has been very successful. The best thing Yohe could have done was to get away from the clowns at the Trib. I think he is the best out of the "insiders" |

I HATE the Trib. It's a joke. My favorite Pens writer is easily Molinari. DK is alright to me, but I do think DK actually does get inside exclusive knowledge that no one else gets. And he is at least respectable. Not like that full retard Rossi. |

He's got something like 10,000 subscribers. Getting Yohe was a major coup. I love DK's insider column every Friday. It's really good. He's the guy that reported about all of the scouts wanting Saad and Shero over-ruled everybody to take Morrow. |

If he got Martin for 4 mil at 4 years.. Even though thats longer than we want to risk, that'd be the steal of the year in the NHL. After last year's high prices on defensemen, Martin not getting near or over 6 mil would be a shame. |

Signing Martin to a 4 year contract would be such a mistake for this team.....even at that figure. I really feel he's a year or two away from becoming Scuds. It would be nice to have him for another year, but it's time to move on and play the kids. |

He's boring as hell when he fills in for MM. He seems ok, a bit of arrogance on his part. This is the time of you when you talk about rumors and what might happen. He didn't want to discuss it, acted like he was above it. |

Overtime will be 3 on 3 next year most likely ... How much can we bet Scuderi will be on the ice for some reliable "puck clearing" and get scored on at least 90% of the time. Plz Jim, get rid of the guy NOW! |

O.K., so we get Martin and the D is better, but how about scoring in the playoffs (if the Pens even make the playoffs)
Sign Martin for $4M - that takes the cap to around $8M, and the Pens need to sign 7 more players. tell me how he gets just one top 6 winger - if you do that?

Agree, 100% risk filled on the last year or two... but do you believe any GM would turn that down if that is what he asks for? |

That's the difference between a journalist and gossip columnist like Rossi.
However, I agree he sometimes he comes off as arrogant. Like when he mocked the fans for being pissed about the Despres deal. Then during the playoffs both Lovejoy and Despres proved we had a right to be upset.
Still. They do some quality stuff on that sight. |

I never read his stuff, most sports writers are pretty terrible in Pitt anyway, but when he filled in for MM he was boring and arrogant. If Im slow at work at least MM will make fun of the callers and hang up on them. Dk just wanted a non biased, boring conversation. Anytime someone would ask "what should the Pens do?" "I'm not gonna do that bla bla bla thats not what Im about" Dude you're on the radio and ppl read your crap cuz they want your opinion, its the off season, nothing to talk about. get over yourself. |

Just saw this take on the Pens FA's.
Ian Cole $2-3.5 Yikes
Martin might be back
Comeau $1.5-$2.5
If they all come back at that price, they should invest in some new golf clubs. - sammy87
Wow... Cole getting possibly 3 mil. While I believe the potential is there, I can't believe he could negotiate that much off of a quarter of a season. |

And, we should invest in some snow skiis - 'cus we can go skiing instead of watching the Pens. |

Beau at 1mill could be a huge break, no pun intended. Has great upside. Comeau's production at 2mill isn't bad either. Cole is the one I worry about. If he signs around 3mill that could be a lot for a potential 3rd pairing d-man. |

Agreed 2 yrs 8 million... 3 years 12.... so long as Scuds can be moved.... Probably won't happen ... some team out there will give him 4-5 years... Look at the ridiculous contracts given to Orpik, Petry and Boychuk... |

If Pitt buys a few years of UFA years on Coles deal something around $2.5-$2.75 mil isn't that bad of a deal.
