Sutter and Kapanen for Skinner - BINGO!
Nah, as much as I would like to trade Sutter, Kapanen's ELC is going to be a saving grace in the upcoming seasons. |

I'd do it. Kap may or may not turn out, which I think he will, but we pretty much upgrade Kap to a young top 6 winger that will play right now. - BourbonCounty
That young top 6 winger right now also costs $5.75m/yr, is a defensive liability, and has concussion issues. |

As much as I'd like to unload Suckturd, I don't like Skinner at all. - jfkst1
You don't like 23 year olds who have scored 30 goals twice? |

He's missed 22 games combined over the last 3 years. |

Shouldn't you like such as well and not want to unload him then? |

That same top 6 winger is 23 and has 2 30 goal seasons playing for Carolina. The difference in Sutter and Skinner's cap hit is Nick Spaling. |

Ok
Cole was hot garbage at times for the blues and he was not improving so they moved him along to try and give him a shot to play for a different team and system.
THe Ryan Miller trade was terrible no argument here.
The problem with Oshie is his attitude.
The Ej trade we got Shatty and Rattie out of that deal so not that big of a misss or even a miss.
The blues need to change the country club culture that has been around since the lockout. THey need to know that produce or you will be gone no matter how many fans love your golden tips. - sycsam
TJ Oshie only has a bronze medal in the WC in 2013.
How about a gold medal winner in Kunitz for TJ Oshie?

Isn't it something like three concussions in four years? Playing with the Penguins he'll get at least two next season alone as injuries are ALWAYS prevalent with this team. Especially freak ones like that. |

I don't want to unload him, but we need the cap relief somewhere and nobody is taking Ward or Semin.
...plus I like Kapanen a lot. |

Sutter and Kapanen for Skinner - BINGO!
Makes zero sense for Pittsburgh. Thanks for playing. Try again later.

Skinner, who I don't want at all, is less of a risk than Letang. You bring up three concussions in four years. My response is Letang has had multiple concussions and a stroke in the same time frame. Which is worse? I mean people Letang's age shouldn't have strokes. |

We don't like players with concussion history, which you can't deny Skinner has. Fine, he has displayed some degree of being able to play recently, but with our injury history and his 6 million contract and his poopty defensive game, its not worth the gamble. |

Probably true. All the more reason to NOT add another player with major health concerns to a roster that always has major injuries. |

In what world is Skinner a defensive liability?!? Is he Guy Carbonneau? No. But it's not like he's a 50% effort guy like Semin. He's a tenacious backchecker and good in the corners for his size.
Skinner is one of the few names mentioned in the past month who is worth moving Sutter for. |

One of Kapanens biggest weaknesses is his defensive game. I'm pretty sure he was compared to skinner when he was drafted. At least with skinner you're guaranteed a proven top 6 player. Kap still is an unknown. |

To be fair, just about every pro athlete has some form of concussion history.
Im starting to get more intrigued by Loui Ericson. He might be much cheaper to obtain, BOS needs to dump cap, he has 1 yr left, always been a 20+ goal scorer. Swedes usually have a responsible 2-way game. |

Salary relief, I should say. The team is for sale and bleeding money right now. |

We don't need anything to do with people with injury histories. Injuries happen to players and they won't stop. However, players with injury histories will continue to get injured. We agree. |

One has played in the league six years and still sucks defensively. I would like to think Kapanen can improve if that is his knock. He is what, 18 years old? Also I don't see Kapanen having a contract close to 6 million per. Major difference to me. |

Forget these bum in this fa class or old/overpriced wingers on other teams that arent worth trading for. Rutherford needs to think outside the box and get creative. How you ask? Simple. Pull and end around and get a western conf team involved.
Example Stl: Pietrangelo to philly for Simmonds
Stl: Simmonds to Pitt for Letang or Pouliot/Bennett
BOOM! Right n Philly's frankin face!!
Have fun with this!!! |
