Had to look up just about everything on this Plotkinov kid, but it sounds like he is a true power forward, bit of a mean streak, good hands, smart as heck... but not a good skater. If his skills translate though he was a 15 goal scorer four years in a row in the KHL. Either way, creative depth signing by GMJR that hurts no one. 25 years old too, could end up being nothing or could become a longer term winger with a left shot, something we were looking for when Kunitz leaves. |

I know nothing about this guy and won't pretend to. According to eliteprospects he can play both wings and is a two way power forward with a good shot. Sounds basically like what I wanted Tikhinov to be but way more physical and can come in on an ELC. Sounds like the perfect depth guy with enough offensive potential to sniff the second line. - Victoro311
Just looked the guy up. If we are signing him this is a coup and s clear top 9 signing. Kid's got a shot AND is a human bowling ball. We haven't had this type of player in ever. My favorite thing about watching his highlight reels: his compete level. Just watching him gives off the sense that he's obsessed with beating people and goes balls to the wall. |

Hes the kind of player we should have been out grabbing the last few years for no asset cost... low risk, solid skill, and could become a forward for us to use instead of having to overpay for one at a trade deadline. |

I know I wish he didn't spend all day commenting. It's so annoying having to skip ALL of his stupid comments. Why does he even care about this team if he hates it so much? Then again if all I ever did was try and ruin other people's day by pi$$ing on their team I would hate myself too. - Dcoms
Him and his other tin foil hat wearing crybaby come on and just complain. They don't even put out their own ideas on team structure and creative signings, they just bash everyone while screaming that the sky is falling. |

Another creative and smart signing done by GMJR and his staff. He could potentially flop out and it hurts us in no way. He could also become a 20 goal power forward.
I'll take it!
I can't wait to see the first narrative of "they had to get geno another russian to play with yada yada stoopid stoopid" |

I prefer my reason for being on here so much more... 1-4 hour compile/run times for my main assignment... I run out of ways to goof off during those periods. |

Regardless... Hes a solid depth player, 15 goals a year in the KHL is fine... we always should assume more goals when paired with Crosby or Malkin (most likely Malkin) so he could become 20+ for a cheap cost. |

Doesn't matter. The guy is Russian. He could lead the league in fighting majors, hits, blocked shots, and GWG and people would still call him soft and a head case. |

Did he play in Olympics? Has he ever played with Geno? Does Geno know him?
Some good questions to ask |

Or he could be a 15-15-30 point guy on a cheap contract on the third line. Either way, no impact to our prospect pool or draft picks.
And typically the adjusted production between the two leagues, if the players game translates over, is a slight boost. So he could potentially be a 20 goal 50 point player in this league, but again that is speculation. Either way it's a savvy creative signing.
Also, Ebbett signed with some Euro league so he is no longer an option. Got to sign the Sheary |

I'll let someone else field questions that we don't have answers to yet... but I'll go out on a limb and say Geno hates playing with him less than Ovi |

Third in scoring in the 2014 WC. Solid playoff performer from what I can tell as well. You did good, Ruth. |

Good little write up on DK's site. Dude looks mean. Love it. Let's hope he can duplicate some of that over here.

Yah, not bad at all. Although he points out something important. TASS isn't the most reliable source. |

So how do you pronounce this guy's name? Or is it as its spelled? |

Just saw that and now that my hopes are up for a decent depth signing so pens don't have to sign comeau or downie, I'm a little nervous. |

If this goes through it will be a BIG pickup for the Pens. Could be a great fit with Malkin, even if he isnt cut out for the top 6 yet, he is a better 3rd line winger than anyone else they have and he will come at a cheap price.
Wonder if JR is trying to go for an all Russian line with Plotknikov-Malkin-Semin? |
