OK now sign Cole Bennett to 1way, dumo chorney Megna to 2 way deals. Trade kuni sutter spaling scuds and Lovejoy, tell dupuis to retire. Pickup franson tlusty and maybe even boedker and fill the rest of the holes with kap and sund and we have a team!
Oh ya bring Murray up instead of zatkoff |

3rd overall in scoring at the WC last year and a solid playoff producer in the KHL. Physical as hell with a scoring touch and his compete level is through the roof. Guy screems playoff hero. |

This is a great signing. An extremely low risk, potentially high reward guy who is young and doesn't cost anything, other than about 1M against the cap. He plays with a mean streak but has skill and hockey sense to be productive. At worst he is a bottom 6 guy who adds physicality and scoring to the 3rd or 4th line. At best, he will fill the hole in the top 6.
Good job GMJR |

Rutherford needs to stay the hell away from Sharp. God he can be a moron. Sharp is no better than Kunitz. No sense in giving up assets for that. |

I don't think he's eligible for an ELC since he's played in the NHL, but if Tikhinov comes cheap and we can sign him we're in buisness. |

Was he playing for Team Russia? I liked it even though I don't know much about him. A Panarin type of move is always good Hockey sense (like Jokinen) is what we need for Geno's line. |

Well we all said 2 good things about JR are his free agent signings (except spaling) and his drafting...his trades need worked on. That's why I'm worried he is going to screw this sutter trade up |

What makes him a top 6 NHL winger again? - Panthers88
Because they say so
That is just like people who think Panarin is a top 6 NHL winger, too. Let's see him play on the smaller ice first before we make that assumption. |

Gotta think that Crosby and Malkin are salivating at the 3-on-3 OT idea. |

So... Cole, Bennet, Dumo, Chorney... all good. Megna I think has played out his time here, no biggie.
You'd be lucky if we traded even 2 of the 5 you want, and Dupuis isn't retiring.
Now you want UFAs and trades, with our limited assets... and two players that at the end of the season scouting reports were being predicted as not ready for the NHL, to become starters.
Jeez... calm down skippy.

Both had a heavy decline to end the regular season, Sharp getting only 1 more goal... hes also injury prone, missing 10% or more games in 5 of the last 6 seasons. Hes a good player, but not what the Pens need, especially with his price tag.

NHLE of 44 points but you worry about his skating |

I'm ok with sharp if it does come cheaper. Sharp was always the player to give 100% every shift. |

See that's what I'm saying. Like let him touch American soil before he's hailed as anything great. Yeesh. |

Probably. A 3v3 with Crosby/Malkin/Letang vs. Kane/Hossa/Keith would be over in about 6 seconds. |

I think the biggest thing is that he has potential to be a top 6 forward. That's big for a team that doesn't have much in the way of potential top 6 forwards in their system. Could he be a bust, yeah, but it won't cost the Pens anything, other than 1M against the cap for this coming year. Low risk, high reward. |

Based solely on the few tidbits about him online, the first comparable that came to mind was Ruslan Fedotenko.
Fedotenko was much more "North American-ized" from an early age though, if that means anything. |
