Throw in Maata, Hornqvist, and Lemieux's shares of the Penguins, and you've got a deal.

Sutter would have to be the centerpiece, but I'm not sure Calgary needs Sutter. I like Hudler instead of Sharp ... he is more productive, a bit younger and he doesn't cost close to 6 million per. He is the best option I see out there of a veteran presence possibly mentioned. Ericsson intrigues me a bit because his price wouldn't be high to acquire and he is gone after a year if he doesn't work out.

I could see them overvaluing Sutter, but Hudler is a very good player. They'd have to really overvalue Sutter to make this work.

We have a 2nd and 7th in this year's draft. I'm sure if Boston wants to trade his rights, it would be for a pick this year, not next. a 2nd is too much for rights and a 7th is too little. This scares me.

The only way you do that is if you are going to make an offer way above market value. It makes no sense for a player to sign a deal now. Sadly I can't say for sure Ruth will not do it, but I honestly doubt it.

Good thing there was left over cap space cud Soderberg needs about .5 more. Franson is about right or I'd pass on him. Besides that, that's a hell of a lineup. Wilson/Rust in for Kapanen though.

Also super excited that Tik may go wherever Plotnikov goes. One of those two, if not both, should successfully slot with Malkin. Wonder how a pure scorer would mesh with two defensively responsible, young, tenacious forecheckers. Makes me giddy. Also: finally some (frank)ing Tikhniov chatter!

That Oshie trade would be a steal. I definitely think Franson will cost more. Same with Soderberg, but the money would be there. That would be a great offseason.
