I agree. Semin is far too big a risk. With at least one of these guys likely to pan out in the top 6, there is no need to take it. The Semin thing has been done into the ground more than the trade Geno thing at this point.

I'd still rather Semin than Sharp. Though Semin's wrist injury is a major concern to me.

From a skill standpoint absolutely. I question that defense's ability to clear the crease though. A Pouliot-Ellis pairing would be disgustingly soft. Id probably configure it something like this and pray Cole and Dumoulin figure out how to start using their bodies quickly.

Letang-Maatta
Pouliot-Cole
Dumoulin-Ellis

If you put Pouliot-Ellis with a strong possession line, they wouldn't need to spend much time in their own end. Kind of like when Preissing-Corvo were +40 each playing behind Heatley-Spezza-Alfredssen

NSH would want major conditional picks back if they didn't retain Suckturd after the year.

Saw this guy team and just had to post it. It is not mine and he has an all Russian 2nd line. It is not what you would expect.

I'd prefer Martin to Franson at that rate and it's too soon for Murray(then again he's riven to be too talented for the AHL and he'll be competing with Jarry for minutes next year.).It would be amazing to have Jarry win all the same awards next year that Murray won this year. You would be able to trade one of them at that point for an elite young scorer. But it's a decent roster, most likely a very near the reality one nex year roster.

The NHL board just agreed to start formal expansion process for interested markets.

Seattle would be a good spot. Great city!

I think the NHL will push for Vegas though. Great place for road games....I think the Yotes will be gone after this season....finally.

From a purely assets point of view I agree with him. I would actually like Sharp on this team but I refuse to spend the assets Chicago wants for him. I by no means want Semin on this team but I am more open to spending the assets it would take to bethel than the assets it would take to get Sharp.

Seemed to be more of a character skill choice from his POV... than what it would cost to get him. No team will touch Semin on his current deal unless they need to reach the cap floor... its ridiculous.

Pretty sure I didn't do anything crazy here, but another possibly realistic roster if we grab both Russians, while noting the plans for the trade deadline.

That's exactly how I feel. I'd rather deal with a bad contract like Semin than lose quality assets for an aging player like Sharp.

Eww... I'm one of Paul Martin's bigger supporters but give Franson at 5.5 instead. If Frabson wants more, then walk away from both

This is from what I believe JR would realistically do as well... Do you think he'd sign Franson, or keep Martin if both came at near the same price?

Sadly, I think he'd keep Martin.

The wrist is just the tip of the iceberg. How about age, wear and tear, laziness, lack of will and desire, selfishness, no loyalty, conceded, etc, etc? There's no reason to take the risk. We have enough uncertainty and decline due to age on this roster without adding the worst contract in the NHL.

It's good. Put Martin with Pouliot and Dumo with Cole. Dump Suckjoy and Spalling any way possible. Trade Sutter and Kuni as well.

I'm so jealous of Edmonton and Buffalo's center depth. It's going to be disgusting how they will dominate for cheap in 2-3 yearr. RNH, McDavid, Draisaitl vs Eichel, Reinhart and Girgensons, like wow, just WOW!

Everyone is allowed 1 or 2 negative comments, it's when it's 100% that it's annoying.

That is like saying I'd rather face a firing squad over the gas chamber. Both are bad ideas.
