He has spoken at great length about how he has dramatically improved his game as a late bloomer so I'm not sure why that is relevant at all.
Shooting percentage, PDO, possession numbers all looked sustainable/comparable to what it was before injury. I know how an inkling of positivity can ruin your day, but I really don't see any precipitous drop in his numbers that should bring alarm. Small sample size but it is what we have to work with. - jfkst1
People throw me in with Sammy regarding lack of positivity however I believe if anyone on the roster can overcome two years of basic inactivity due to injuries, its Dupes. The guy has taken a ration of poop from people, but yet has proved people wrong a lot. He might not be top six, but certainly can help a disaster third line. |

Again, move Kuni and put him in the bottom 6. Cant have both those guys on the roster. 1 of their contracts should be going to someone in their 20's in the top 6. - sammy87
Ok, who does it go to? |

I don't think Kunitz will be here come camp. |

Agree 100%. I just read an article on TSN about this recently. The writer speculated that the league would probably not allow Pronger to be traded. - jfkst1
I read that as well,it basically said that if he were trade the trad would not be approved and he would be forced to retire and the flyers would pay penalties against the cap for an over 35 contract. |

I agree with you ideally that would be the best scenario. But it's not entirely in the Pens control either. I assume you are not suggesting trading Kunitz for a 20 something top6 winger straight up. So where do we find that guy? How do we trade Kunitz? Do we just dump him or are we trying to salvage some kind of decent return? Do we package him up with our other so-so trading chips and hope to get that young top6 winger? Who would be interested in trading for Kunitz and giving something worth trading him for? There isn't a young top6 winger in the UFA market either so we can't go that route. |

I don't think anyone can compare to Sammy in regards to negativity. I know I can be very negative at times, but Sammy is a supermassive black hole of negativity that sucks positivity out of a discussion like Sutter sucks the offensive production out of his line mates. |

It all depends if the league decides to deem it circumvention or not. And the CBA is so vague in its definitions that the league can deem it so on its whims.
That said, if the league did not approve the trade, the penalties would not have anything to do with Pronger's contract, because they ARE called out in the CBA. They'd just have to continue to carry Pronger's contract as they have been. Forcing a player to retire is not one of those penalties. |

Ideally, Dupuis is that 3rd line winger that can move up to the top 6 if their are injuries. |

He won't be 3rd or 4th line. He will be put on 1st line where he doesn't belong and they won't move him for other guys who should probably be there. Plus his cap hit is horrible |

Trade Kuni for a 2nd
Sutter for a 2/3 mid level player
Sign Soderberg or Matthias 3C
Offer sheet Pulk (2nd required)
Or trade BB+D prospect for a top 6 |

That's the way I see him. If somehow Kunitz and Duper are still here, I'd love to see a third line of Soderberg, Kuni and Duper. That would would be a hard working line that could pot a few. |

Ok, but you are not likely getting any of those for Kunitz. You will need to add to this or mortgage the future(with future picks). You will trade Kunitz + a young guy in his 20 for another guy in their 20? That seems like it creates a problem elsewhere. |

I've lightened up on the bashing, to promote the positives he has in trade value... Just because we hate him doesn't mean all teams do.
Also... its hard to keep poopting on him every single day when Scuderi still exists. |

There is nothing that he posts that is wrong, if you really look at it. I agree with probably 95% of the stuff he posts. It's reality really. This organization has major flaws; little assets to trade; not that much talent and not a great amount of cap space to use to improve. The only options are taking risks on players that have major flaws (bad contracts, poor work ethic, injury history guys). There are players on this roster that aren't good or are on the decline, bring back little in return and we are more than likely stuck with. This is not a total rebuild, but this is pretty close to one. Major concerns on offense since we only have one line worth a poop and no forwards to go with our second generation talent and now major questions on defense, a position our former GM drafted year after year.
There is nothing wrong with facing reality. because there is little positive about this organization in its current state. We have two generational talents and aren't close to competing for a Cup due to poor decision making. |

And therein lies the distinction. RW has found a way to poop on him in almost every single blog this summer, even the ones that seemingly have nothing to do with him. It's a talent. |
