Eating healthy unprocessed food is not a fad for the record.
- PhilMcCracken

Nope, but completely eliminating entire groups of food (dairy, grains) is certainly not based on any scientific evidence. If you're losing weight, a good rate is about 1-2lbs per week based on a good diet (around 2000 Cal/day for males) and exercise.

Lums, agree on getting the essential nutrients, etc. however veggies like Broccoli can provide lots of fibre as well. It's a fallacy saying you can only get fibre from grains.
- PhilMcCracken

You can get plenty of calcium outside milk as well, kale is one example...

I'd do the trade 1 for 1 without the picks... Same poop but at least stall brings better culture, or so it would seem...

Of course you can get fibre from other sources, but grains happen to be excellent sources of fibre. Of course processed grains are bad, but things like quinoa (and others) are excellent additions to any diet

Yep. If you look up the facts, a lot of it makes sense. In the caveman days, there were no grains or anything of the sort

Did this once for three months and dropped 40 pounds..... no joke. Eating salad for breakfast was the worst!!!!

- PhilMcCracken

you lose weight because cutting out all the carbs puts you in ketosis, where your body takes it's energy straight from the fat stores.

Cavemen weren't inherently healthier than us, and the human body is amazingly good at adapting to different types of food, so that rationalization for the diet is bad... but the diet itself is pretty good, because it cuts out most of the insanely processed sugars that spike your blood sugar, and trigger your body to start storing more fat.

yup. Cutting out carbs is a great way to lose weight, but to maintain a healthy lifestyle, eating complex carbs is actually really good for you.

Its all balance. Too much of any one side will mess with a persons health. A big thing is food portions. The wife is down to pre-wedding weight after 2 kids now, simply by reducing the portions of food, after that the weight went down and she feels great. Most people would be shocked to get an actual "portion" of meat on their plate, it's only the size of a deck of cards.... Over there you guys have smaller portions in restaurants, its getting better here but...
