This thing with Hamilton is going to get really f***ing stupid!
1-He WILL get offers for $7 million per from other team.
2-He was a 9th overall pick.......what are the odds of getting a high pick in return?
3-Even if we did get a high pick what are the odds he is as good as Hamilton is now? (Adam Larsson was the 4th overall pick in the same draft.....is Larsson a top pairing D-man yet?)
4-Hamilton is THREE years into development, so even if we drafted a high D-man, we would need to wait THREE years for him to be around the same development as Dougie.
5-Ekblad is, maybe, the only D-man since Dougie that I would would take over him.......Seth Jones, Reinhart, Murphy, Murray, Poiliot, etc., not one is projected to be better right now..........so how the hell does Sweeney think he is going to find another "potential" elite D-man in the draft if no one since Dougie-through-Ekblad is as good?
Sweeney thinks he is Harry Sinden maybe........?

Maybe it is. Great.
But what is even dumber is to suggest that the 3rd pick would get you Hamilton.
EDIT: Although we traded Seguin.....so.....anything is possible I guess. - JIwasinskiJr
Anyone see that tweet by Dreger this morning? And to think people were calling others dumb for saying Hamilton should be involved. |

I have no idea. The guy is a Philly fan. And they have a great track record with D-men and goalies though, so maybe he knows what he is talking about.
The question is why is ARI shopping the pick.......?
They seem to be open to trading it, so what would they think they can get?
But, to think that you get a "star" for a pick is kinda counter productive........hence why a trade like the one Ty mentioned seems to at least be a solid possibility. - JIwasinskiJr
Darren Dreger
@DarrenDreger
Trade interest in Boston's Dougie Hamilton is significant. Some see the Bruins offering Hamilton to Ariz for #3 pick. So much speculation.

All speculation at this point. Still doesnt make any sense to trade him right now. Sweeney will move other pieces before he moves hamilton, and it likely isnt going to be for the #3 pick.

Dreger speculates Boston moves Hamilton for 3rd overall.
Man that would be hilarious. You guys wouldn't necessarily "lose" the trade in five years, but it'll definitely set you back a couple of years and you would sure as hell lose it for the next two or three. |

I read the convo. I honestly think there was a conversation between the two teams. One, very short conversation, and that is it. I honestly dont believe sweeney has the balls to pull off that kind of trade at this point.
That being said, any time you go on another teams thread and call their players garbage you should expect to get ripped. Not that weird. |

guys that, for the most part, folks on this board have no problem getting rid of? anderson's trade suggestion was trash, just admit it.
and thanks for letting me know it was only one quick conversation. have you relayed that to dreger and mackenzie? |
